Abstract

The present invention relates to a decorative wall covering, as well as the method of applying this coating.
It relates generally to the industrial and commercial field of the manufacture and distribution of surface coating products intended in particular for buildings and applicable both to walls, walls or ceilings as well as to doors or panels. .

The process consists in successively coating the support 1 with a first layer 2 of special coating, a thin non-woven film 3 and a second layer 4 of special coating intended to protect the film.

The special coating used is an aqueous acrylic emulsion with high viscosity and the characteristics of an adhesive. Depending on the result to be obtained, it may be transparent, colored or not, or opaque.

The film 3 has the particularity of being very thin, its surface weight being less than 40 grams per square meter. After the second coat 4 has dried, which takes about 24 hours, it can be applied to all kinds of finishes: uniform paint, wiped paint, wax effects, etc.

The process therefore consists of a crumpled paper type decoration technique, but with the enormous advantage of using a film of great width, and therefore without joints for the walls. In addition, the very fine quality of the film allows very large surfaces or ceilings to be installed by overlapping after having torn the zigzag edges. The extreme finesse of the material makes the joints practically invisible.

The positioning of the various constituent elements gives the object of the invention a maximum of useful effects which had not, to date, been obtained by similar methods.
