Abstract

 The present invention relates to a device for enabling a motor vehicle to increase its transport capacity and for enabling it to transport bulky but not too heavy objects (eg mountain bikes, luggage boxes, large packages, etc.) without having to use a trailer, or having to modify the interior arrangement of the vehicle, or to mount roof bars.

 The trunks of current small and medium range motor vehicles are not designed for this use, which requires the compulsory mounting of a towing hook as well as the acquisition and storage (always bulky) of a trailer.

 Many manufacturers already offer mountain bike carriers, but these are only designed for this use.

 This device according to the invention overcomes these drawbacks.

 According to a first characteristic, a platform, composed of a tray and a retractable backrest, which is fixed to the rear bumper of the vehicle, the retractable backrest holds the transported material and protects the bodywork from knocks and shocks that can occur during different manipulations.

According to a second characteristic, the tray is removable, handy, quick to install and dismantle, and depending on its size, easy to store in the vehicle or at home.

It is installed in or at the rear bumper and its ends are connected to the body using straps and adjustable hooks which stiffen the assembly.

The platform is robust, built with light and resistant materials which allow the transport of different types of objects (mountain bikes, chests, luggage ...) but also that of bulky packages but not too heavy (ex: camping tent ...) thanks to its system of straps which distribute the efforts of the platform with the bodywork and secure the transported objects.
