Divers types d'éléments de mélangeurs statiques sont connus à ce jour ; par exemple FR-A-2468401 décrit un mélangeur statique dans lequel les éléments de mélange sont constitués par des barrettes juxtaposées qui s'interpénètrent ; FR-A-2372652 décrit un procédé de soudage entre elles des barrettes dont les champs coïncident ; US-A-4929088 montre un mélangeur statique avec des déflecteurs pleins placés en périphérie de l'enveloppe ; EP-A-0655275 montre une structure échancrée continue pouvant avoir des parties saillantes. A cet effet, le mélangeur statique selon l'invention est caractérisé en ce qu'il comprend au moins deux surfaces déflectrices planes ajourées disposées en oblique par rapport à l'axe d'écoulement principal, au moins l'une desdites surfaces s'inscrivant dans toute la section de passage. La forme de ces surfaces découle de 'enveloppe dans laquelle elles s'inscrivent. Par exemple, dans le cas d'une enveloppe à section carrée ou rectangulaire ces surfaces ajourées constituant l'élément de mélange seront elles-mêmes carrées ou rectangulaires. Dans le cas d enveloppe circulaire, les surfaces ajourées seront forme elliptique ou de fraction d'ellipse. Elles peuvent également s'interpénétrer suivant le pas à respecter pour obtenir l'homogénéité nécessaire. En effet, l'expérience a montré la disposition relative des surfaces déflectrices ajourées, la forme des ouvertures et le pourcentage du vide ainsi créé sont des critères importants à respecter pour répondre à l'intérêt des mélangeurs statiques qui réside dans l'obtention d'un mélange efficace, sur une faible longueur de traitement avec une perte de pression compatible avec 'application. Par ailleurs, ce nouveau type de mélangeur étant réalisé à partir de surface plantes découpées, ses coûts de fabrication sont réduits et sa construction extrêmement robuste. Selon les particularités essentielles de l'invention, les surfaces déflectrices sont découpées de façon à - présenter des lumières créant le pourcentage de vide désiré - être de structure homogène, c'est-à-dire ne comportant pas d'élément rapporté - venir en contact avec l'enveloppe sur tout ou partie de leur périphérie pour assurer la résistance mécanique par -boutement - comporter en entrée et en sortie de chaque étage un elément périphérique de renfort fermé assurant sa rigidité permettant d'assembler les différents étages entre eux soit par des moyens mécaniques - boulons, vis clips - soit soudure.
