Abstract

Crown wheel and case has the case (20) formed of aluminum and a differential crown gear (30) fitting onto a mating surface of the case. The crown gear is a ring with outer gear teeth and an inner bore to fit onto the casing. The gear bearing surface on the casing and the inner surface of the gear have splines extending parallel to the axis of rotation of the gear.
