Abstract

Armrest (7) rear seat (3) hinged-on a vehicle body, comprising a base (8), a cover (9) articulated on the rear end of the base, characterized in that it comprises a tablet (12) mounted on the base (8) so as to be pivotable thereon in a circular sector to its position of use, and in that this shelf is provided with means for retaining an element of a multimedia system. This element can be a keyboard associated with a central unit, or a laptop (14) removably disposed on the tablet. This arrangement stabilizes the keyboard or laptop while the vehicle is moving, and makes the keyboard invisible when not in use.

Description

The present invention relates to a rear seat armrest of a motor vehicle articulated on a vehicle body, of the type comprising a base and a hinged cover on the rear end of the base. It is known to integrate multimedia functions (video, office, laptop ...) </ B> in the space reserved for the rear passengers of a vehicle. It is also known to use keyboards or laptops, positioned on the knees-rear passengers.
These achievements of the prior art have certain disadvantages: The keyboard or the laptop are not stabilized, so that their use during the movement of the vehicle is made difficult.
- </ b> The portable computer or keyboard is still visible and clutter up storage space.
The invention therefore aims to provide an arrangement for a laptop or a keyboard, not having these disadvantages. According to the invention, the armrest comprises a shelf mounted on the base so as to be able to pivot on it in a circular sector up to its position. use, and this tablet is provided with means for retaining an element of a multimedia system.
According to one embodiment of the invention, said element is a keyboard that can be removably attached to the tablet, and associated with a central unit housed in the seat. the seat.
The keypad can remain at </ B> within at </ B> the inside of the raised armrest, which avoids cluttering the vehicle's rear space when this multimedia system is not used.
Other features and advantages of the invention will become apparent from the following description, with reference to the accompanying drawings which illustrate an embodiment to </ B> title of non-limiting example.
The figure 1 </ B> is a top view of the rear space of a motor vehicle whose central armrest is equipped with an arrangement compliant to </ B> the invention, deployed in front of a rear passenger.
Figure 2 is a front elevational view along arrow K of Figure 1. </ B>
Figure 3 </ B> is a perspective view of the central armrest of Figures 1 </ B> and 2 in the closed position. Figure 4 is a perspective view of the armrest of the figures 1 to 3 </ B> in the open position and the tablet supports a keyboard.
Figure 5 </ B> is a perspective view of the armrest of figures 3 </ B> and 4 in the lowered position with its shelf deployed laterally in its position of use and supporting a laptop .
The vehicle 1 </ B> partially shown in the drawings has two front seats 2 and a rear bench seat 3 </ B> comprising two seats 4 and a rear seat 5. </ B> The latter consists of two seat parts 6 </ B> for the corresponding seats 4 and provided with a central armrest 7 </ B> articulated at </ B> its rear end on the vehicle body. The armrest 7 </ B> can be placed either in the raised position or in the lowered position (figures 1 </ B> and 2) of use.
The armrest 7 </ B> includes a base 8, </ B> a cover 9 </ B> hinged on the end of the eryi-base 8 </ B> around an axis 11, </ B> a shelf 12 mounted on the base 8 </ B> in a way to </ B> can rotate on it, thanks to </ B> means of support and guidance known per se. This pivoting is effected in a circular sector preferably of approximately 90 '</ B> (arrow F in FIG. 5) </ B> to its position of use on one side or the other armrest 7. </ B>
For example, these means may consist of an articulated parallelogram system of which a link 20 is visible (FIGS. 2 and 5). </ B>
In this position of use, the shelf 12 is oriented to </ B> almost perpendicularly to </ B> the armrest 7, </ B> in front of a rear passenger 13 </ B> user. On the tablet 12 may be arranged a laptop 14 consisting of a keyboard 10 </ B> and a screen 15 </ B> can be folded over the keyboard (Figures 4 and 5). </ B> The keyboard 10 </ B> can be removably attached to </ B> its support shelf 12 anywhere known medium in itself, for example side tabs 16 . </ B>
An extension 18 </ B> is slidably mounted on the shelf 12 so that it can be extracted, after deployment of the shelf 12 to </ B> the outside of the armrest, up to a position of use (Figure 2) where it can be supported on an armrest 19 </ B> of one of the rear doors.
The 10 </ B> keyboard can also be used not as part of a laptop, but in combination with a built-in CPU between the two seating parts. 6. </ B> In this case the keyboard 10 </ B> can remain integrated at </ B> the armrest 7 </ B> taking place in a complementary housing 17 </ B> of the lid < B> 9 </ B> when the latter is folded down (Figure 4).
One or the other of the rear passengers can use the device according to the invention by first lowering the armrest 7, </ B> and then raising its lid < B> 9, </ B> by rotating the tablet 12 from one side or the other to its position of use. Finally the user 13 </ B> slides the extension 18 </ B> until it comes to rest on one of the door armrests 19 </ B> . The passenger 13 </ B> can then use the keyboard 10 </ B> attached to the tablet 12 by the tabs 16, </ B> in conjunction with the central unit. He </ B> can also use a laptop 14 that he has on the tablet 12 in y </ B> fixing to </ B> using the legs 16 If it wishes, the user can then lower the cover 9. </ B>
The extension 12 may also serve as a carpet for a mouse.
In the case where the passenger only uses a keyboard 10, </ B> the screen can be installed for example at </ B> the back of the headrest of the front seat where the case in a seat section not shown in the back seat 3. </ B>
This seat slice is then equipped with a multimedia system in accordance with a French patent application filed on the same date as the present application on behalf of the same applicant, and titled </ B> Lifting Bench Seat of Motor Vehicle Rear Seat . </ B>
Thanks to to </ B> the arrangement of the central armrest 7 </ B> according to to </ B> the invention, the keyboard 10 </ B> or the computer 14 is stabilized during the movement of the vehicle, which significantly improves their convenience of use.
In addition, when the shelf 12 is not in use, the armrest 7 </ B> is normally closed as shown at 3, </ B> and can be either lowered or raised, its built-in keyboard layout remaining invisible. A simple connector not shown is provided for the various possible options for implementation of the invention.
