Abstract

A stick for playing a percussion musical instrument has a bulge made from the same material as the stick and situated three-quarters of the way along its length from its grip end. The bulge is generally oval in shape and as well as providing a counter-balance for the stick it can be used itself for playing an instrument, giving a different timbre from playing with the tip of the stick.
