Description

High type localized protection element with a high degree

  abrasion resistance, especially for clothing, the sports and sports industry

  leisure and sports accessories.

  The subject of the present invention is localized protective elements of the high type having a high degree of abrasion resistance, in particular

  for clothing, the sports and leisure industry and sports accessories.

  The innovation finds a particular application even if not exclusive in the field of clothing for the practice of motorcycling, and in any case of extreme sports on wheels: like the descent in mountain bike, the free-style on

  inline skates, and more.

1s State of the art

  We know the technical clothing for the practice of sports activities.

  Each of them, generally, is specially designed to guarantee more comfort to the user and at the same time, to ensure a certain efficiency

protective to body parts.

  In principle, almost always, these garments, in connection with the particularities set out above, use in the first place fabrics in competition often with other more or less innovative materials, optimized to give the body a

  good air conditioning, with that also including waterproofing.

  Of these, some have wanted to go beyond the characteristics cited, because they are also designed to protect these parts of the body, and in particular the

  skin, which are more exposed, accidental shocks during sports practice.

  We have thus observed, in certain disciplines, the birth of particular garments, such as jackets and pants, which locally incorporate protective zones; zones, the location of which depends on the

  kind of sport for which the garment is intended.

  So, for example in the practice of motorcycling, it is certainly usual to locate jackets or pants, on which, in correspondence of the elbows for the first and knees for the second, locally stiffened zones are provided, relative to the surrounding body covering material. These zones, usually, are obtained by sewing or heat-sealing interlining stuffing elements at determined points, practically uniting pieces of fabric of different shapes and of material of the shock absorption type. This material, first, could consist of a piece of leather, of greater thickness, gradually replaced by semi-rigid plastic materials like erasers or polyethylene foam, then still rigid like PVC, nylon and other, until to the current use of still rigid forms and

  associated with the garment, generally obtained in composite fiber.

  To this first technique for saving body parts, which we would define of the fixed type, a second was added, of the removable type. These are the classic knee pads or elbow pads, which essentially differ from the first ones because at the end of use in extreme conditions, they are completely separable from the garment, and this allows greater freedom of movement. These accessories, generally, are composed of a rigid shell, obtained in plastic material, shaped according to the anatomical part of the body to be coated, with the lower surface, more or less padded. There are several techniques for attaching accessories to the garment concerned.   Motorcycles enthusiasts, for example those for road racing know that the protection factor is very important, so that today it is practically a necessity to have a garment of such manufacture. The enthusiast, in fact, arrives to appreciate his own motorcycle only when he accomplishes developments that do not necessarily coincide with the

  literal meaning of the word, but that for a third may seem such.

  Notoriously, especially the motorcycle for road racing, in the execution of a curve, tends to tilt, causing what in jargon we define a - fold -, and it is precisely this characteristic which causes the conviction of very casual conduct. In reality, this movement can be more or less accentuated and it depends either on the position taken by the motorcyclist or on the speed with which the latter is about to face the curve. Leaving aside the temerity of the maneuver, it is foreseeable that also the neophyte, on horseback of his own motorbike, for example in i5 traversing a mountain road, rich in curves, will be in the condition of producing several folds, even consecutive and inadvertently, which only depend on the shape of the course. This movement, which we can define pendulum, then causes lateral acceleration, causing a barely controllable fold towards the inside of the curve, which can produce an extra-tilt

  of the motorcycle until the contact with the ground of the lower and protruding appendages of the chassis is assumed.

  If this condition of employment is relatively infrequent for neophytes, for the expert motorcyclist often comes back, not only in driving on mountain roads, but also in traditionally not very absorbent routes, such as for example execution in plan and moderate speed of a turn at 90. Finally, the fold is certainly the rule, in motorcycling on track, where the execution in speed of curves and counter-curves, has the effect of causing

  sudden extra-tilting of the bike, really exhilarating, we can say at the limit of the handling. Because of these excessive folds, sometimes on one side sometimes on another, it is inevitable that not only some parts of the motorcycle, but also parts of the body come into contact with the ground. These, due to the natural position and the fact that they can be pushed by the pilot to protrude outside the template, are interested in even prolonged friction, which involves localized abrasion of the garment, therefore of its protections. which locally coat a few parts of the body, usually the parts that stick out the most. Notoriously, these parts are located, not only in the shoe, but also at the level of the knee joint, elbows as shoulders and next to the hands, and it is

  precisely for this reason that the above protections are carried out. The phenomenon described, for example, can be observed with particular evidence between professional pilots, who, as we know because of wear and tear, replace their own clothes practically at each race.

  Disadvantages The rather common disadvantage of all these protective solutions, also of those integrated into the garment, than of those of the removable type, stems from the fact that since they are made of plastic material, they have a reduced resistance to wear, 20 so that, from the first turns and after barely a few contacts with the ground, appear essentially worn and devoid of any protective efficacy. In addition to that, because of the friction which is verified between the two parts which are suddenly in contact, it is not at all rare to notice the sudden detachment of the protection device, sometimes with lacerations of the garment,

any missing function.

  A second considerable aspect, starts from the fact that because of the friction, which in the event of contact is caused between plastic body of protection and coating of the roadway, the pilot perceives it in a very accentuated way by causing the immediate displacement of the part. of the body requested. In addition to the pain, this sudden movement modifies the correct balancing assumed before facing the curve, with

  obvious negative repercussions on the overall attitude of the bike.

  It is also an object of the present invention to solve the above-mentioned problems. Summary of the invention This object and others are achieved with the present innovation according to the

  features referred to in the appended claims, resolving the

  lo problems exposed by localized protective elements of the low friction type, particularly for technical-sports clothing and its accessories, comprising: at least one protective structure of the type fixed to the garment, or removable by being united to the garment by means of reciprocal holding; said structure provides at least one support, on which at least one roughness is obtained in a monolithic fashion on one side, that is to say that facing outwards, this roughness consists of an emerging location, inside from which a body of material with high abrasion resistance is introduced and anchored, said body, possibly replaceable, is protruding with one end of the respective aforementioned location. Advantages In this way, by the considerable creative contribution whose effect constitutes immediate technical progress, one obtains several advantages. Beforehand, it is possible to cite the fact that the use of materials with low friction and therefore at least with high abrasion resistance, allow the party interested in the protective device, when it is in contact, to almost slip on the coating of the

  roadway, without undergoing abrasions worthy of attention.

  This function, in case of contact with the ground, allows the pilot not to diminish its perception and at the same time, it avoids these sudden jolts and

  unwanted movements which push the rider to change the position of the motorcycle.

  Essentially, therefore, it contributes to promoting the correct maintenance of the position, taken at the time of entry into the curve, without giving rise to unwanted and immediate displacements of the barycenter. 5 A second goal is to reduce and limit the abrasion of the protective surface of the garment, which accidentally touches the ground, while at the same time safeguarding the

  skin and clothing. It is true that when using materials with a particular hardness, such as steel or technical alloys, consumption is almost non-existent, because the protective surface tends to almost slip on the pavement .

  A third goal is to prevent the detachment of the device from the garment. This advantage is obtained by the effect of the reduced friction of the device with the ground, the contact of which favors the sliding, therefore it is not violent. A fourth goal is to make possible the production of a specific device, with high protective capacity, which can at the same time also form an integral part of the garment, resulting in a united, locally in the parts

  that with more probability can come into contact with the ground, as for example, the knees, the shoulders, the elbows and the side of the hands. These, and other advantages will become apparent from the following description

  detailed description of a preferred solution using the included drawings.

  Description of an exemplary embodiment

  It is, in more detail, a protective structure, in particular a kneepad (A), which in turn may also be an elbow pad or another element for protecting body parts, of the type provided with a rigid shell (1) with a large surface, essentially shell-shaped, united on the lower surface with padding and more flexible material (2), which overflows from the structure itself

  allows to adapt perfectly to the part of the body concerned.

  Still on the lower surface (not shown), reciprocal means can be provided, such as, for example, recessed means, screws, velcro and other equivalent techniques, which allow the toggle joint (A) to be united with the garment, to then be quickly removed at the end of use in sporting conditions, allowing the garment to be kept on the back,

improving user comfort.

  Only on the outward facing side of said knee lifter (A),

  that is to say on the upper surface, a series of intermediate elements (3), of plastic or ferrous material, but also carbon, titanium or other technical alloys, united to the hull (1) are provided in the production phase. and therefore at least partially drowned in the

shell itself.

  In the specific case, said intermediate elements (3), preferably of the shock absorption type, are arranged longitudinally and they appear distributed almost in a fan shape, so as to cover the large surface of the shell (1),

  at the same time following hypothetical tangent lines of contact with the ground.

  Each of said intermediate elements (3) is composed of a support (31) more or less developed longitudinally, from which emerge, being monolithic, receptacles (32), aligned and equidistant, having a cylindrical or well conical conformation. Optionally, in order to optimize the rigidity of the support (31), a rib can be provided longitudinally, which interests diametrically each

  s receptacle (32), by chaining them.

  Being hollow internally, inside said emerging receptacles (32) are housed bodies (4), of rather hard material and nevertheless with low friction, of

  so that the end (41), in the specific semi-spherical case, of each of said bodies, is essentially in projection relative to the corresponding location (32).

  The conformation and the material of each body (4) which can be associated with the support (3), can be of different type provided that the condition to minimize friction is met. This is why, for example for anchoring, on one side we can use bumps, screws, rivets, bars, all metallic, but also carbon, titanium or other technical alloys, always with the opposite end ( 41) which comes out of the location (32), preferably rounded. Other solutions, for example, can provide metallic or glass spheres, in this case

  partially submerged in addition to 180, inside each location (32).

  In the solution described, two application hypotheses have been chosen. In the first, (Fig. 4), there is a metallic pivot, on one side (41) emerging from the location / receptacle (32), with a semi-spherical portion, of the other, resulting with a base (42), embedded below the support (3). In the second (Fig. 5), instead of the submerged base, a threaded end (43) is provided, so that the bodies (4) can thus be screwed to said support (3). In this case, inside each location (32) can be provided a metal core, suitably threaded to accommodate the body (4) and retain it in the location. In a third hypothesis, the garment concerned, can provide a protective structure which is no longer removable from the garment itself. This is the case where said

  protective structure, in the specific case a knee pad, an elbow pad, a shoulder cover, or a glove protection, is permanently attached, providing for the possibility of uniting, the structure itself, with seam, heat seal,

  or other to the part of clothing concerned.

  A variant with the intermediate elements (3) consists in providing a support (31) from which even a single receptacle emerges (32), not necessarily of cylindrical shape, but for example in linear shape, inside which a body is embedded or still engaged (4), with a portion (41) with low friction, always

protruding from said receptacle (32).

Claims   1. A localized protective element of the high type exhibiting a high degree of abrasion resistance, in particular for clothing, the sports and leisure industry and sports accessories, comprising: at least one structure for protecting the type attached to the garment, or removable by being united to the garment with reciprocal held means; characterized by the fact that said structure provides at least one support (31), on which is provided on one side, at least one asperity (32); said roughness (32) consists of an emerging location, inside which is inserted and anchored a body (4) of material with high abrasion resistance, said body   (4) being projecting with one end (41) of the respective said location (32).   2. Localized protection elements, according to claim 1., characterized by the i5 that only on the outward-facing side of a kneepad or elbow pad (A), that is to say on the upper surface, a series of longitudinal intermediate elements (3) are provided, made of plastic or ferrous material and nevertheless made of technical material such as carbon or titanium, united to the hull (1) in the construction phase and therefore at least partially embedded in the hull even; said intermediate elements (3) consist of a support (31), from which receptacles (32) emerge, being monolithic, and o inside said emerging receptacles (32) are housed bodies (4), rather hard material and in any case with low friction, so that the end (41) of each of said bodies protrudes from the corresponding location (32).   3. Localized protection elements, according to claims 1. and 2., characterized   by the fact that the support (31) of said intermediate elements (3) is made of material of the shock absorption type.   4. Localized protection elements according to the preceding claims,   characterized by the fact that the intermediate elements (3) on the shell (1) are arranged longitudinally and appear distributed, so as to cover the surface   shell (1), protective clothing or structure (A).   5. Localized protection elements according to the preceding claims,   characterized by the fact that the conformation and the material of each body (4) which can be anchored to the support (3), can be of different type provided that the condition of minimizing friction is met, by providing for bumps, screws, rivets , bars, all of metal, but also of carbon, titanium or other technical alloys, io always with the opposite end (41) preferably rounded which comes out of the location (32).   6. Localized protection elements according to the preceding claims,   characterized by the fact that said protective structure (A) is so joined   stable, to the part of clothing concerned.   7. Localized protection elements according to the preceding claims,   characterized by the fact that the body (4) consists of a metal or alloy pivot or bar, on one side (41) emerging from the location / receptacle (32), with a semi-spherical portion, of the other, resulting with a base (42), embedded below the support (3), alternatively, by providing a threaded end (43).   8. Localized protection elements according to the preceding claims,   characterized by the fact that the protective structure which is removable from the garment, provides on the inside side reciprocal anchoring means, a part of which is preventively joined to the structure itself and a reciprocal holding part, to the localized portion of the garment , such as velcro, or mechanical means of   flush mounting or screws and the like.   9. Localized protection elements according to the preceding claims,   s characterized by the fact that the bodies (4), consist of metallic spheres or else obtained in glass, in this case partially embedded, in addition to 180, inside of each location (32).   11. Garment provided with a localized protective structure, according to   previous claims, characterized in that in the garment itself   has provided, at least locally, the union of intermediate elements of type (3).
