Abstract

The protective cover for the inner surfaces of a vehicle bodywork has round plates which are magnetic for fixing to the walls. The plates can have another geometric shape. The plates can be moulded pr cut to shape from rubber or plastics and have a magnetic sole.

Description

-1- The main object of this invention is the internal protection of

  transport vehicles, trucks, vans, vans, car trunks, wagons, planes, boats, etc., as well as that

  materials and goods transported.

  These often hit the walls of vehicles

  due to sudden changes in direction or speed, accelerated

  ration, braking; which has the effect of causing damage so much

  vehicles than transported material.

  This drawback is generally remedied by lining these walls with plywood or other materials which are generally screwed, which has many drawbacks: Obligation to make holes in the body (source of corrosion), significant price, reduction in loading volume, no

recovery during resale.

  The object of the invention is to overcome these drawbacks by applying protection modules to these walls at the places requested.

  Fig. L.C. represents a smooth bottom vehicle, equipped with a

  suitable material with magnetic fixing.

  These molded or cut modules will preferably be made of a flexible protective material (rubber, plastic, or any other elastomer). Their thickness and hardness will depend on the weight, -2-

  possible shocks and the bluntness of the goods transported.

  The material of which they are made can therefore be as appropriate

  compact or cellular or a mixture of the two. Fig. 2.A. Fig. 2.B.

  Fig. 2.A. represents a round stud composed of an elastomer of

  protection fitted with a magnetic sole.

  Fig. 2.B. is identical but we can see an inter-

  cellular rubber midfielder for better cushioning.

  It is the face in contact with the bodywork which will be fitted with a thin flexible rubber comprising magnetic particles and which will be bonded cold, hot or fixed by any other

  process (double-sided adhesive tape for example).

  This magnetic rubber itself being very flexible, this gives the modules possibilities of adaptation to

curved or angular surfaces.

  However, for the interior protection of certain vehicles subjected to violent shocks, a plate composed of a sheet of magnetic rubber bonded to a thin sheet of mild steel (0.5 mm approx.) Will be used for fixing the modules. This set achieves a maximum load face 50 percent higher

  (150 g./cm2) than flexible magnetic rubber (100 g./cm2).

  These modules will therefore have good rigidity which is

in this case an advantage. Fig. 2.C.

  Fig. 2.C. represents a magnetic fixing stud with a mild steel sheet inserted between the protective part and the magnetic rubber. The great particularity of this system therefore lies in the fact that these protection modules maintain themselves without screws or

  rivets by magnetic effect and are therefore removable.

  -3- They may have all geometric shapes or dimensions

  specific to each type of vehicle to be protected.

  The invention therefore provides numerous advantages:

  - Total or partial protection of the interior of the vehicle by

  sition of these protection modules that can be placed and moved

  depending on the shape and positioning of the load. Fig. 1.A.

  - High speed of installation.

  - No hole needed (no corrosion)

  - Better resale of the vehicle whose interior has been protected.

  - Certain profitability, thanks to the recovery of the modules during the

resale.

  - Reuse on new vehicle.

  The invention also provides for the protection of trans-

carried between them.

  Example: A wagon carrying cylindrical objects (tanks, wheels,

  t8le or others) will be fitted with modules placed on the walls of the wagon and the tanks will themselves be fitted with one or more removable belts with magnetic fastenings in flexible material to

  to prevent them from shocking each other. Fig. 3.C.

  Other modules of square, rectantular or triangular section can also be placed on the ground and serve as wedging for materials, cylindrical or not, and prevent them from rolling or sliding. This type of shims with magnetic fixing is also suitable for

  the stalling of transported vehicles. Fig. 3.A. and 3.B.

  The invention finds its application not only to vertical or oblique walls but also to smooth or raised floors of

  trucks, vans or any other vehicle. Fig. 1.A -l.B.-l.C.

  The originality of the invention is therefore divided into four main axes which differentiate it from existing processes: - The protection of the walls and floors of vehicles and all materials subject to impact and abrasion or to both combined by

  - The protection of materials between them.

  - The fixing to the ground of materials transported by fixing wedges

  - The phonic and thermal protections of all material in application

  as for these studs fitted with the appropriate material on the outside or inside of the material to be protected. Example: Protection against noise from an automobile engine or

  truck; the material will be placed under the hood at the desired dimensions

will fix it.

  We can also protect all kinds of noisy machines

  tes by applying this same process.

  The invention also applies to the internal coating of walls, tanks, hoppers, sandblasting or blasting booths and more generally to all metal surfaces subject to abrasion, corrosion or clogging. In the latter case, use a material with a very low coefficient of friction (polyethylene of high molecular density, for example) always fitted with a sole.

  -5- IT fig. 4 shows a storage hopper receiving shocks upon loading and abrasion by flow of the material. It can be seen that the studs were arranged on the oblique walls and that they were cut to fit the angles and edges of the hopper. For these latter applications it is the round shape of the modules with magnetic fixing which then makes the invention original and efficient. Indeed, when these are juxtaposed there remains a space between the studs which fills with the transported material (sand, stones, grain, coal etc ...), which has the effect of constituting a blockage

  which keeps the module even better on its support. Fig. 5.A and 5.B.

Claims (6)

  1) Method for protecting the walls and floors of characteristic vehicles   risé in that studs of round shape or any other geometrical shape, with magnetic fixing are placed on these walls and floors in the requested places. 2) Method according to claim 1 characterized in that the pads are molded or cut from a protective material, flexible or hard as required, such as rubber, plastic, or any other elastomer and are provided with a magnetic sole for their fixation 2.A-2.B-2.C.   3) Method according to any one of the preceding claims   characterized in that these flexible elastomers with magnetic fastening can be in the form of belts coating goods or materials, cylindrical or not, in order to prevent them from shocking between them. 3.C.   4) Method according to the preceding claims characterized in   that elastomers with magnetic fixing, of appropriate lengths and sections can be used for the chocking of cylindrical, parallelepipedic materials or the wheels of transported vehicles 3.A-3.B.   5) Method according to the preceding claims characterized in that   this process can be used for the protection of the interior walls and floors of tanks, hoppers, sandblasting booths and all metal surfaces subject to abrasion, corrosion, clogging or other attacks. Also characterized in that studs of suitable material equipped with a magnetic face for their fixing will be   arranged in places requested for the protection of these surfaces. -7-   6) Method according to the preceding claims characterized in that   studs of suitable insulating material, provided with a magnetic sole for their fixing can be used for sound protection   or thermal of noisy material or emitting a high temperature.
