Abstract

Method comprises : (a) forming loop (ABC) by blocking (5 a) line (5) from reel (8) along handle (7), (b) increasing length of loop by pulling line between handle and first ring (6) of fishing rod (9), and (c) releasing loop and blocking of line along handle of fishing rod. An Independent claim is also included for the apparatus for accelerating fishing line.

Description

-I - The present invention relates to a method and an auxiliary device

  mobile and removable to increase the speed, during casting, of a fly line usually

called silk.

  The acceleration of the length of the line deployed during the different phases of the throw is traditionally amplified by withdrawal of the line with the hand opposite to that

  maneuvering the cane. This action is commonly called single or double traction.

  The device is easily inserted and released from the line. It allows, in a gesture similar to that of a traditional traction, to remove a portion of line approximately twice as long, thus generating more speed and improving the performance of the

launch.

  The accompanying drawings illustrate the invention.

  Figure I shows a front view of the device (1).

  Figure 2 shows the device (1) inserted on the line (5) at the start of traction.

  The hands, not shown, respectively hold the handle of the cane (7) of a

  on the one hand, and the device (l) on the other.

  FIG. 3 represents the device inserted on the line (5) at the end of the traction.

  Method for increasing the speed of a fly line characterized in that it consists in a first step of forming a loop (ABC) by blocking (5a) the line (5) leaving the reel (8) along the handle (7) of the cane (9) and the first ring of the cane (6), and in a second step to increase by pulling the hand opposite to that holding the cane (9) the length of the loop thus formed, and in a third step to release the loop and the blocking of the line along the handle

  Method according to the preceding paragraph characterized in that the increase in the length of the loop during the second step is obtained by the insertion of an element

  forming a removable loop around which the line (5) is able to flow.

  Device (1) for implementing the method characterized in that it comprises a rotating part (2) cooperating with the line (5) and a retaining element (4) allowing

  holding it against the palm face of the launcher's hand.

  With reference to these drawings, the device (1) has a rotating part (2) on

  which houses the line (5) and between two fixed fixed parts (3).

  One of the external faces is provided with a retaining member (4) to allow it to be held against the palmar face of the hand, whatever the position of the latter,

by putting a finger on it for example.

  The device (1) is inserted on the line (5), it is held in the hand opposite to that holding the rod (9) by the handle (7). The line (5), coming from the reel (8), is

locked against the handle (7).

  During traction, the line (5) being locked against the handle (7), the device (1) moves over a distance AB and causes a line length equal to AB BC. Without device, the hand holding the line moves a distance AB and causes a

single line length BC.

  Moving the device (1) at speed V makes it possible to obtain a speed

  about 2V from the line in the ring (6).

  The traction exerted with the device (1) can, as for a traditional traction, be carried out during the phase of throwing back then that of throwing before

(double traction).

  When the length of the moving line and its speed are deemed adequate, all that remains is to release the device (1) and release the line (5) hitherto blocked against the

  handle (7) to complete the throw.

  By way of nonlimiting example, the device (1) will have dimensions of approximately

- 50 mm in diameter.

- 20 mm thick.

  - 25 mm in diameter for the rotating part (2).

  - 4 mm spacing between the fixed parts (3).

  - 6 mm spacing between the fixed parts (3) at their circumference.

  The device according to the invention is particularly intended for launching a line at

  fly in fishing action or outside fishing action.

Claims (3)

  1) A method for increasing the speed of a fly line characterized in that it consists in a first step in forming a loop (ABC) by blocking (5a) of the line (5) leaving the reel ( 8) along the handle (7) of the cane (9) and the first ring of the cane (6), and in a second step to increase by pulling the hand opposite to that holding the cane (9) the length of the loop thus formed, and in a third step to release the loop as well as blocking the line along the handle (7) of the rod (9).   2) Method according to claim 1 characterized in that the increase in the length of the loop during the second step is obtained by the insertion of an element   forming a removable loop around which the line (5) is able to flow.   3) Device (1) for implementing the method according to any one of   previous claims, characterized in that it comprises a rotating part (2)   cooperating with the line (5) and a retaining element (4) allowing it to be held against the   palmar side of the launcher's hand.
