Abstract

The laminated ski or snowboard has a running wear insert (92) of U-shape positioned integrally in the ski structure. The insert is positioned adjacent to the bindings and centred, with respect to the center of gravity of the user, in the surface of the ski.

SKI, OR OTHER SNOWBOARD BOARD

AS A SURF

  The present invention relates to a ski, or other board of

  glide on snow such as for example a snowboard.

  It is known, for example from CA-A-2128460, to make roller skates which are also provided for sliding on a ramp, for example a stair rail. The feet of the user, and therefore also his

  two roller skates, are then transverse to the ramp.

  The object of the invention is to propose a ski, or another board for gliding on snow such as a surf, which allows the same thing to be done, that is to say, to slide along a ramp, a barrier, handrail, ..., with this board placed transversely to the ramp, without unduly penalizing, by premature wear, the gliding sole of this board, and without being bothered by the

lower edges of metal.

  It relates for this purpose to a ski, or other snow-sliding board such as a surf, characterized in that, in order to adapt it to the practice of sliding on a ramp with the board in a transverse position relative to at this ramp, it has a sliding zone situated at the level of the sole and centered with respect to the position of the center of gravity of the user on the surface of the board, that is to say for a ski the position from the middle of the shoe, and

  for surfing the substantially median position between the front foot and the rear foot.

  According to one embodiment, this zone is materialized by a

  absence of lower metal edges at this location.

  According to another embodiment, this zone comprises a wear part which is reported in said zone so as to harmonize in continuity with the structure of the board, without creating sharp angles protruding from this structure. According to a preferred embodiment, this wear part has a

section in "U".

  The length of this wear part is typically between 5 and

centimeters.

  It may be polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), or another rigid plastic material, possibly made of reinforced plastic to withstand wear, or even metal if in particular it has no sharp angle.

  It is preferentially interchangeable.

  The invention will be well understood, and its advantages and various

  characteristics will stand out better, in the following description of two

  non-limiting examples of embodiments applied to a ski, with reference to the appended schematic drawing in which:> Figure 1 is a side view of this ski,> Figure 2 is a section along II-II of Figure 1,> Figure 3 is a section according to III-III of Figure 1,> Figure 4 is a view from below> Figure 5 is a view similar to Figure 1, and showing a

  Referring to Figures I to 4, it is a ski 1 whose general structure, conventional in itself, comprises, according to Figure 3:> a lower sliding sole 2 laterally bordered by 2o lower metal edges 3, 4, a fibrous lower reinforcing fabric 5, a core 6, typically made of polyurethane for example, a fibrous upper reinforcing fabric 7,

  > a top plastic layer 8 of protection and decoration.

  According to the invention, and according to FIGS. 1, 2 and 4, this conventional structure is modified, without breaking the continuity of the outer circumference of the ski, in an area 9 situated at the position of the skier's boot, and more precisely on both sides longitudinally, at equal distances, of the line M called "middle shoe", this line M corresponding to the position of the middle of the shoe, and therefore virtually to the center of gravity of

  the user on the surface of the board.

  This modification consists of a wearing part 92, made of polytetrafluoroethylene, for example, with a U-shaped section according to FIG. 2, which is attached at this point in the structure of the ski, where it then locally replaces the assembly constituted by the sole. 2 and the edges 3 and 4, as seen in the drawing. The sole 2 thus cut is constituted by a front portion 21 and a rear portion 22. Similarly, the metal edges 3 and 4 are decomposed into a left front portion 31, a left rear portion 32, a front portion

  right 41, and a right rear portion 42.

  The protective and decorative plastic layer 8 then bears laterally, according to FIG. 2, on the two respective vertical branches, 90 and 91,

  of the "U" formed by the metal piece 92.

  By practicing sliding on a ramp in a transverse position, only the

wear part 92 is requested.

  Advantageously, this part is interchangeable. Here she is stuck,

  but with a reversible glue for removing it by heating for example.

  It can also be for example fixed by screwing or clipping.

  The length L of this wear part 92 is between 5 and 25 centimeters. It goes without saying that the invention is not limited to the example of

  realization which has just been described.

  In this regard, Figure 5 shows an alternative embodiment which differs from that in Figure 1 in that the wear part 92, section "U" has its underside 10 which has a concave shape in the longitudinal direction. This arrangement is also applicable in the absence of wearing part 92, that is to say when, in the simplest embodiment, the ski does not

  has no metal edges 3 and 4 in zone 9.

  In the case of the application of the invention to a surf, the zone 9 is located in a substantially median position between the front foot and the rear foot of the

surfer.

Claims (10)

  Skiing or other snowboarding board such as surfing, characterized in that, in order to adapt it to the practice of sliding on a ramp with the board in a position transverse to this ramp, it comprises a sliding zone (9) situated at the level of the sole (2) and centered with respect to the user's center of gravity on the surface of the board (1), that is to say for a ski the position middle (M) of the shoe, and for surfing the substantially median position between the front foot and the rear foot. 2. Gliding board according to claim 1, characterized in that said zone (9) is materialized by an absence, at this location, of lower metal edges.   Gliding board according to one of claims 1 or 2,   characterized in that it comprises a wear part (9) which is reported in said zone so as to harmonize in continuity with the structure of the board, without creating sharp angles going beyond this structure.   4.
