Abstract

The invention consists of an anti-theft display for a demonstration article comprising a support (20) for said article and a winder (10) for an electric wire (11) connected on the one hand to a detector (12) intended to be fixed. on said article and on the other hand, to an alarm center, said reel (10) being removably placed in said support (20).

  The invention relates to a display for a demonstration article, equipped with an anti-theft protection device.

  In stores, items offered for sale, such as cameras or telephones, are often displayed without the protection of a display case. They can thus be easily handled by potential buyers. It is then necessary to provide anti-theft protection devices to limit the risks of theft by

dishonest customers.

  The known protection devices are in the form of a detector connected, by an electrical circuit, to an alarm center. The detector is intended to be fixed on the article to be protected. When an unscrupulous customer removes the

  article, an alarm signal is triggered by the central.

  Over the years it has appeared desirable

  improve the presentation of items for sale.

  First, the sellers want the products to be placed on supports that make them more visible

  and no longer just placed on furniture.

  Furthermore, the electrical circuit which connects the protection device to the alarm center comprises an electric wire, the length of which is sufficient to allow the manipulation of the protected article.   It is therefore desirable to use a winder for the electric wire, which limits the visible part of the wire. To date, the reel for the electric wire of the device for protecting a display item, is fixed to a piece of furniture, independently of the support on which

the article is placed.

  This therefore requires different set-up operations (drilling the furniture, fixing, etc.) which are costly.

  The subject of the invention is therefore an anti-theft display stand for a demonstration article, said display comprising a support for said article and a reel for an electric wire connected on the one hand to a detector intended to be fixed on said article and on the other hand, to an alarm center, said reel being removably placed

in said support.

  Thus, the support and the reel form a unitary assembly, which simplifies the installation of the articles of

demonstration in a store.

  In addition, maintenance is also easier.

  Indeed, in the event of failure of the reel or

  detector, simply replace the complete reel.

  Finally, the reels can be standardized to reduce manufacturing costs. The same type of reel will then equip all the supports, whatever their shape

  which is adapted to each demonstration article.

  The following characteristics can also be taken into consideration in isolation or in all their technically possible combinations: - the reel and the support have complementary means intended to engage with each other

  to ensure the connection between the reel and the support.

  - the support has two side walls fixed on a substantially flat base, - the side walls of the support have a slightly inclined front part which ends, near said base, by a concave element, - the side walls of the support have, on their rear part, grooves intended to cooperate with a cornice provided on each side wall of the reel, - the support has an additional wall, perpendicular to the side walls, - the reel present on its front face, intended to be placed at the inside the support, an opening for the electric wire, the end of which is connected to said detector, - the reel comprises, on its rear face, means

hanging on a wall.

  The invention will be better understood and other objects, advantages and characteristics thereof will appear more

  The elements common to the different figures will be

  designated by the same references.

  Figure 1 shows the display according to the invention, in the disassembled state. It consists of a reel 10 and a

support 20.

  The reel 10 is intended for part of the electrical wire 11 which connects the detector 12 to an alarm center which is not illustrated in the figures. The

  detector 12 is intended to be fixed on an article of

  demonstration placed on the support 20.

  The reel constitutes a cassette, of compact form and

substantially parallelepiped.

  On the rear face 13 of the reel, the wire 11 is blocked by any appropriate means. On the front face 14 of the reel, the wire 11 passes through an opening 15 made

in side 14.

  The reel also comprises means 16 which ensure its connection with the support 20. These means have, in this example, the shape of a cornice, along each lateral face 17 and 18 of the reel 10, on the edge common to each lateral face 17 and 18 and to the front face 14 of the reel and on the two edges common to each lateral face 17 and 18 and to the upper faces and

  lower 34 and 35 of the reel.

  The support 20 is in particular designed for a portable telephone. It has a flat base 21 which is intended to be

placed on a piece of furniture.

  The support 20 also includes two lateral faces 22 and 23, the front part 24, 25 of which is inclined and ends,

  near the base 21, by a concave element 26, 27.

  Thus, a demonstration article (not illustrated in the figures) placed on the support 20, will be supported on the lateral faces 22 and 23 and retained by the concave elements 26, 27. In the example illustrated in the figures, the support 20 has a wall 29, perpendicular to the side walls 22 and 23, and which serves as a spacer and forms a bottom. This wall 29 is partially hollowed out to allow the passage of the electric wire and the detector 12. The shape of the recess can be any. The demonstration article can thus also be supported on the wall 29 and retained in place

  by the front parts 24 and 25 of the side walls of the support. Preferably, each front part 24, 25 of the lateral faces 22 and 23 has a recess 28 which facilitates the removal of the support from the demonstration article. With reference also to FIG. 3, the support 20 has, on each rear part 30, 31 of its lateral faces 22 and 23, means 32 for ensuring the connection with the reel 10.10 In the example illustrated in the figures, these means 32 consist of a groove, the shape of which corresponds to

that of the cornice 16.

  Thus, the connection between the reel 10 and the support 20

  is ensured by engaging the cornice 16 in the groove 32.

  However, the means provided on the reel and the support for ensuring the connection between the two parts

could take other forms.

  When the complementary connecting means 16 and 32 are engaged in each other, the reel 10 and the support 20 are in the position which is illustrated in

Figure 2.

  Thus, the display unit according to the invention has a compact shape. It can be placed directly on a piece of furniture, without any additional operation. In particular, it is not necessary to fix the reel on the furniture. The anti-theft protection device is also invisible when

  the protected article is on the display.

  In an alternative embodiment, the reel comprises on its rear face 13 means allowing the display to be hooked or clipped onto a substantially vertical wall. These means 33 are partially illustrated on the

figure 2.

  In use, the detector 12 is fixed to the article

  When a potential buyer removes the protected article from the display rack according to the invention, the wire 11 unwinds and passes through the opening 15 formed in the front face 14 of the reel. The length of the wire located outside the reel is then sufficient to allow handling of the article. When the protected article is replaced on the display, the wire 11 is automatically wound in the reel 10. No residual length of the wire 11 is therefore visible,

  when the article to be protected is placed on the display.

  It may be necessary to repair the display, in the event of a failure of the detector 12 or of the reel itself.

  To facilitate removal of the reel, the rear part 30, 31 of the lateral faces of the support 20 is

  slightly hollow. This appears in particular in Figure 2.

  The taking of the reel 10 is then facilitated.

  Different types of reel can be used to make the display unit according to the invention. Mention may in particular be made of the reels of the so-called electric type which include a

electrical rotating joint.

  Advantageously, the display will include a reel requiring no electrical contact. A winder of this type, which essentially comprises means

  guide for the wire, is associated with a spiral electric wire having the property of being slightly deformed after complete stretching then relaxation of the stretching. Finally, the display unit according to the invention is not limited to the shape illustrated in the figures. Other forms may

  be retained, depending on the dimensions of the article to be protected.

  Preferably, the shape of the supports is determined so as to be able to receive a reel of dimensions

  standards, which simplifies the manufacture of the display unit according to the invention and therefore reduces costs.

  1. Anti-theft display stand for demonstration article comprising a support (20) for said article and a reel (10) for an electric wire (11) connected on the one hand, to a detector (12) intended to be fixed on said article and   on the other hand, to an alarm center, said reel (10) being removably placed in said support (20).   2. Anti-theft display unit according to claim 1, in which the reel (10) and the support (20) have complementary means (16, 32) intended to engage one another to ensure the connection between the reel and the support.   3. Anti-theft display according to one of claims 1   or 2, the support (20) of which has two side walls   (22, 23) fixed on a substantially flat base (21).   4. Anti-theft display according to claim 3, the side walls (22, 23) of the support have a slightly inclined front part (24, 25) which ends, at   near said base (21), by a concave element (26, 27).   5. Anti-theft display according to one of claims 3   or 4, the side walls (22, 23) of the support of which comprise, on their rear part (30, 31), grooves (32) intended to cooperate with a cornice (16) provided on   each side wall (13, 14) of the reel (10).   6. Anti-theft display according to one of claims 3 to   , whose support (20) has an additional wall   (29), perpendicular to the side walls (22, 23).   7.
