Abstract

The sign is made up of a series of rectangular sections (1) joined together to form a panel which can be connected to sliders so it can be hoisted above ground level. Each section (1) has a back (10), four sides (11) and a removable front (2) with evenly-spaced perforations (20). The perforations allow translucent coloured square or triangular plates which make up the sign to be attached to the fronts by pegs and allow light to filter through from lamps (12) between the front and back of each section. Each of the pegs connecting the plates to the section fronts comprises a head and a rod which passes through a hole in a plate and engages with one of the perforations. The section fronts can be made from a transparent material or from a perforated metal plate or woven metal mesh.
