Abstract

The letter opener (1) has a casing (2) of plastics material with a longitudinal groove (3) across which extends a metal cutting blade (4) connected to the casing and elastically sprung into the groove. The blade is fixed on a tongue (5) which is made of the same material as the rest of the casing. The elastic tongue has edges (1a) defining the longitudinal groove. The edge of the casing opposite the tongue has a receiving recess (9) for the end of the blade.
