Abstract

The chestnuts are cooked in a perforated drum from a washing machine (1) with a door (2) through which the chestnuts are inserted. The drum is above a row of gas burners (6) that have a pilot light (7) and are lit automatically. The drum is rotated by a handle (3) turned by the user. The pieces of incandescent peel escape through the holes in the drum but are retained by a protective cover (4). The chestnuts are kept hot in the drum by a heat recovery plate (5), even if only the pilot light is lit.

Description

 The present invention relates to a device for simultaneously cooking and peeling chestnuts.

 Cooking chestnuts is traditionally done using a brazier which may burn the chestnuts.

 Sometimes the use of a frying pan concedes an adequate cooking but does not allow the peeling of the chestnuts.

 The device according to the invention overcomes these drawbacks. In fact, according to a first characteristic, it comprises a perforated drum of a washing machine, a ramp of gas burners, a protective jail and a crank actuating the drum.

 The drum which makes it possible in particular to cook the chestnuts to perfection, is also used for peeling them.

 Thus, when the user actuates the crank, the chestnuts roll inside the drum during their cooking, thereby getting rid of their peelings.

Figure 1 shows in cross section the device of the invention.

 Figure 2 shows in longitudinal section this device.

 With reference to these drawings, the device comprises a perforated washing machine drum (1) with an entry and exit door for chestnuts (2). I1 is held by a crank (3), covered with a protective cleat (4) preventing the embers from escaping, all arranged in a heat recovery unit (5). The drum is located above a ramp of gas burners (6) kept waiting to start by a pilot (7) with automatic ignition. The burner bank is supplied by a gas inlet safety valve (8).

 The raw chestnuts are deposited in the drum (1) by the door (2). The gas is supplied at variable pressure through the tap (8) to the burner bank (6). The crank (3) is actuated so as to rotate the drum (1) thus allowing all the chestnuts to cook simultaneously.

 The incandescent peel pieces cannot escape through the perforations of the drum (1) thanks to the protective jail (4).

 In addition, turning the crank (3) during cooking rids the chestnuts of their peel. Once cooked and peeled, the chestnuts are kept warm in the drum (1) thanks to the heat recovery unit (5) even if the burners remain on standby (7).

 The chestnuts are finally extracted from the drum by the door (2) to be put into cones; they are then ready to eat without having to peel them so without getting their fingers dirty or throwing trash on the public highway.

 1) Device for simultaneously cooking and peeling chestnuts in that it comprises a perforated drum of a washing machine (1) having a door (2) through which chestnuts are introduced to be cooked.  2) Device according to claim 1 characterized in that the drum is placed on a ramp of gas burners (6) maintained in standby operation by a pilot (7) with automatic ignition.  3) Device according to claims 1 and 2 characterized in that the fact of operating the crank (3) allows simultaneous cooking of all chestnuts thereby ridding them of their peeling.  4) Device according to claim 3 characterized in that the glowing pieces of peel can not escape by actuating the crank (3) thanks to the protective tab (4).  5) Device according to any preceding claim in that the chestnuts are kept warm in the drum (1) thanks to the heat recovery unit (5) even if the burners remain on standby (7).
