Abstract

The housing, for either rotary or reciprocating shafts, consists of two half-shells (1, 2) which can be cut to the required length, fitted with end covers (3, 4) and mounted on adjustable legs (5). The half-shells are marked at intervals with transverse lines to facilitate cutting, and the end covers are shaped to allow easier assembly with the half-shells. The assembled half-shells have a cross-section in the shape of a square with rounded corners, allowing the supporting legs to be fitted beneath it or at one side. The components are made, for example, from an injection-moulded plastics in different sizes, and supplied in kit or pre-assembled form.

Description

 The present invention relates to a device for ensuring complete protection against personnel contact with the power transmission shafts driven by a rotation or linear movement, in accordance with decree 93/40.

 The protection of the shafts is traditionally only ensured at the level of the couplings on 270 radially and, leaving access axially. Unintentional contact may occur in particular with the fingers.

 The device according to the invention overcomes these drawbacks. As a first characteristic, it comprises being made up of two half-shells enclosing coupling and shafts over 360 "radially and, being adaptable in length so as to protect the shaft axially, from the outlet of the shaft to the machine leading, at the exit of the shaft of the driven machine. Its fixing to the ground is ensured by means of feet adjustable in height to the number of two if they are located axially under the device or on the side in the middle of the device , four in number if they are located at the ends and on the side.

According to the particular embodiments
- length adjustment is obtained by cutting the excess length of the main part (1 and 2) and adaptation by fixing an independent bottom (3 and 4).

 - the mounting and centering of the bottom (3 and 4) on the main part (1 and 2) is obtained by means of a routing according to the details in FIG. 8.

 - the two half-shells (1 + 3 and 2 + 4) are fixed together to enclose the tree, by bolts, thanks to flanges.

 - the cutting to length of the main part (1 and 2) is facilitated by raised lines; perpendicular to the axis and spaced regularly.

 - a sleeve (7) allows the assembly of two main parts (1 and 2) to the length necessary for assembly.

 - the mounting of the profiles (5) in the lower half-shell (2 + 4) is ensured by closed casings incorporated in the part.

 - the feet consist of profile (5). Soles (6) will be glued to the profile (5), and will be fixed to the ground.

 - the soles (6) can also be used to allow the mounting of the profiles (5) on the lower half-shell (2 + 4) in the case where the positions of the provided sockets are unusable.

 - the profiles (5) can also be fixed to the lateral parts by bolts, in pairs or by four, if the mounting conditions do not allow the profiles (5) to be fixed in the axis of the shafts.

 - the opening on the half-shells (1 + 3 and 2 + 4) for the passage of the trees can be enlarged by cutting and, concentric stripes in relief facilitate the work of adaptation.

 - the centering of the two half-shells (1 + 3 and 2 + 4) is obtained by male and female hemispheres on the edges.

 With reference to the drawings, the user cuts the main parts (1) and (2) according to the necessary length. It assembles by gluing or bolting the bottoms (3) and (4) on the main parts.

 He then cuts the profiles (5) according to the necessary height, then assembles them on the soles (6). He then positions the feet in the casings of the lower part of the device (2) and (4) .11 then fixes the soles (6) on the support, then closes the parts (1) and (3) assembled, on the parts (3) and (4) by fixings requiring tools.

 Alternatively, the feet can be fixed to the lateral parts of the part (2) in pairs.

 In another variant, the feet can be fixed to the part (2) by means of the soles (6).

 By way of nonlimiting examples, the parts (1) and (2) assembled will have dimensions of the order of 150x250, 200x400, 270x450, 350x550, 430x550 mm.

 The device will be made of plastic material injected into molds and mass produced. It will be supplied as a kit or pre-assembled.

Claims (11)

 1) Device for the protection of power transmission shafts, characterized in that it comprises two half-shells (1) and (2) which can be cut to the necessary length and closed by an attached bottom (3) and (4), then attach height-adjustable feet.  2) Device according to claim 1, characterized in that it comprises raised lines perpendicular to the axis and regularly spaced to facilitate cutting to the desired length of the parts (1) and (2).  3) Device according to claim 1, characterized in that the funds comprise a routing allowing their assemblies and their centering on the parts (1) and (2).  4) Device according to claim 1, characterized in that the two half shells (1 + 3) and (2 + 4) have flanges which allow their closings around the trees to be protected.  5) Device according to claim 4, characterized in that the flanges comprise male and female half-spheres allowing the centering of the two half-shells.  6) Device according to claim 1, characterized in that the lower half-shell comprises a casing which can allow the fixing of the profile constituting the feet.  7) Device according to claim 1, characterized by a sole allowing the assembly on the ground of the lower half-shell through the profile, consisting of a socket for fixing the profile and holes for fixing to the ground by bolting.  8) Device according to claim 1, characterized in that it comprises a sleeve allowing the assembly of two half-shells therebetween.  9) Device according to claim I and 8, characterized in that it comprises a routing allowing the assembly of the sleeve on the two half-shells.  10) Device according to claim 1, characterized in that it comprises concentric raised lines; facilitating the increase in the diameter of the opening allowing the passage of the trees.  11) Device according to claim 1, characterized in that the section of the two assembled half-shells is of square shape rounded at the corners, allowing the mounting of the feet below the lower half-shell, or on its side.
