Abstract

The garment is designed to cover the whole of the torso, with fastenings at the shoulders. It has an open crotch area (9), and is fastened to the top of the thighs by bands (10,10') of material extending from its lower edge which can be extended to form short legs. The bands can be in one piece or have fastenings in the form of buttons, press studs or hooks, and in variants the garment's lower edge can be extended to form stocking suspenders. It can also incorporate an elasticated front panel to hold in the stomach.
