Abstract

The device for controlling the operation of a dangerous electrical machine comprises a box (1) attached to a bracelet which is worn around the user's wrist. The box includes on its top surface a force sensor (3) covered by a visco-elastic material (2) which may be struck by the user to activate a signal. When the surface is struck (6), the sensor provides a signal which is processed and then converted into radio waves (7) which are transmitted. The radio waves are picked up by a receiver mounted in a fixed box (8). The receiver is associated with relay contacts which change state on receipt of the radio signal. These may be used to switch off the electrical machinery. The circuit also includes visible and audible warnings (12,13) indicating that the device has been triggered.
