Abstract

The bulb planter consists of a vertical tube or bar (1), either round or square, which is welded at its lower extremity to the centre of a cross bar of the same material. The upper end of the tube is welded to the centre of the handle (3). The cross piece at the bottom of the tube carries the planter (4). The planting depth gauge is formed as a stop ring (10), which is carried at the lower end of two side arms. The side arms, in turn, are carried by a central slider (7), which is adjustable up and down on the central tube and lockable in position. The planter is either constructed with a fixed cutting cylinder (4) or with an opening cutting cylinder. The mechanism associated with the opening cutter is mounted on the central handle section and operated from the top by two handles (17) fitted below the main handle section. The cutting cylinder opens by the two halves of the cylinder. The cylinder pivots around a horizontal axis, which is carried on two parallel extension legs (12). The legs which extend down fro the cross piece at the lower end of the central tube.
