Abstract

The caravan roof consists of two covering layers, the first of which is sealed to the walls in the conventional manner. The second layer (1) lies above the first and covers the same area. Normally this second layers lies closely in contact with the first, but it is capable of being lifted away from the first layer in order to reduce the noise caused by rain reaching the occupants inside.The upper roof layer may be lifted by a number of small levers (3) attached to a horizontal rod (4). The rod may have a toothed wheel on one end, enabling either an electric motor drive or a manual drive to rotate the rod through 90 degrees.

Description

 In the text, caravans and caravans are called cockpits.

 The objective of the present invention is to improve the phonic comfort of users who use passenger compartments fitted out for the practice of outdoor tourist activity. It consists of the installation of a double roof.

In all cases of use to obtain maximum efficiency, the flysheet must not rest on its entire perimeter on the upper part of the passenger compartment.

A vacuum must exist between the flysheet and the upper part of the passenger compartment. n is held in its position of use by spaced articulated arms, which aim to raise the flysheet and keep it detached from the roof of the passenger compartment.

The system which makes it possible to raise the flysheet with a minimum of effort and to fix it during its use phase is composed of several articulated arms.

These arms are arranged either on the two lengths, or on the two widths of the rectangle of the roof (the number of arms will be defined according to the length of the passenger compartment). In all cases, a minimum of three arms will be necessary for each of the widths of Ibabitacle.

The articulated arms are closed when the flysheet is in the low position in figure 1. They are then folded up and are located between the roof and the flysheet. They are open when the flysheet is in the use position (high position) figure 9-3
The articulated arms are fixed either on the length of the rectangle of the roof or on the width. However, if the length of the rectangle is greater than 1.5 times the width, the arms will preferably be placed along the length, thus avoiding a floating of more or less pronounced and different flexibility depending on the rigidity of the materials used which constitute the flysheet.

The articulated arms are fixed on an axis which pivots on itself 90 degrees.

The movement makes it possible to open and close the articulated arms so as to raise and lower the flysheet in Figure 5.

At the end of this axis is positioned a notched washer and a stop. As the axis turns the stop 7 shifts in turn in the notches. This security allows the flysheet to stay in the high position, figure 4.

 To raise the flysheet two situations are possible.

I) The passenger compartment can benefit from an electrical connection. An electric motor will slowly raise the flysheet. It must have a backward action to raise the flysheet, another to lower it Figure 1-2-3;
2) The passenger compartment cannot benefit from an electrical connection. Manual action is suitable. Using a crank, the user will raise and lower the flysheet.

The materials used in the design of the flysheet will be of the plastic family, preferably hard solid material of a reasonable thickness to reconcile the effectiveness and the weight of the flysheet.

The flysheet will be bordered over its entire perimeter with an aluminum U-shaped angle. It will complete the rigidity of the flysheet by limiting its flexibility.

It will fit perfectly on the top of the cabin in the low position.

2- In the transport phase:
The flysheet rests on the roof of the passenger compartment around its entire perimeter on an angle iron and is fixed to the passenger compartment by "grasshopper fixings. These fixings are essential to ensure optimum safety:
During the journey, the flysheet must be perfectly immobilized and placed on the top of the passenger compartment. All vibrations are neutralized by the "grasshopper fixings". The number of these fasteners will be defined according to the surface of the roof of the passenger compartment.

 The device according to the inventor is intended to provide greater sound comfort to the user by reducing the noise generated by rain by 90 / O or even 100%.

Claims (5)

 1) Device for increasing the phonic comfort of users of cockpits, caravans and caravans characterized in that it consists of a double roof which rises during use and lowers for transport.
