Abstract

The fixing consists of a plastics rod (2) with a series of radial ribs which are softened by warming to allow the rod to be fitted into a U-section extrusion at the edge of the wall or ceiling. The rod is warmed by exposing it to a hot air flow and inserted into a sleeve (3) attached to the edge of the sheet material and fitted into the extrusion before the ribs cool and return to their original rigidity.

Description

The present invention relates in general to methods of hanging fabric fabrics or plastic sheets, ceilings or walls, and in particular in the fields of false ceilings and rrtural coating.

This type of attachment is traditionally carried out in two different ways: the first way is characterized by the welding of a hook-shaped selvedge, made of plastic, on the periphery of a plastic canvas. The fabric thus made is clipped to a metal or plastic profile fixed to the ceiling or to the wall, and provided with a single stop which retains the selvedge.

This approach has a first drawback, the difficulty of welding the edge to the canvas in a precise manner. A second drawback is the impossibility of welding the selvedge on textile fabrics. A third drawback lies in the lack of security in the fastening, the selvedge being clipped to the profile by means of a single stop.

The second way is characterized by the fixing to the ceiling or to the walls of a profile on which a strip can be embedded, the canvas being wedged between the profile and the strip.

This way of doing things has a first drawback, that of the lack of uniformity in the positioning of the fabric which has folds and pinches when it is necessary to use several rods for the same side. A second drawback is the inevitable crumpling of the canvas at the corners, caused by the discontinuity of the strip at this level.

The device according to the invention overcomes these drawbacks; it indeed comprises, according to a first characteristic, a system, for hanging the canvas very safe which does not require any particular preparation. A peripheral hem is created on the edges of any type of fabric to introduce a bead of particular shape. This cord has tabs that soften under the effect of heat from a hot air generator, which allows easy embedding of the cord and hem in a U-shaped profile with two stops on which the legs of the cord grip which regain their rigidity when they are no longer subjected to the heat source. The continuity of the cord ensures the uniformity of the stretching of the canvas and prevents wrinkles and wrinkles here, and in particular at the angles.

According to particular embodiments - the cord (2) is made of semi-ngid plastic material which softens with heat, which allows the legs (I) to be embedded in the profiles (6 or 7) as soon as the cord is subjected to a source of hot air.

Claims (4)

 1) Device intended for fixing textile fabrics or plastic sheets (5) to the  ceiling or walls and in particular in the areas of false ceilings and cladding  wall, characterized in that a plastic cord (2) provided with lugs (1) is anchored in a U-shaped profile (6 or 7) provided with two hooking stops (10 or 11).  2) Device according to claim 1 characterized in that the semi-rigid plastic cord (2) is provided with tabs (1) which soften upon exposure to a source of hot air and which regain their rigidity during cooling, which allows them to be anchored in a U-shaped profile (6 or 7) provided with two hooking stops (10 or 11).  3) Device according to claims l and 2 characterized in that the U-shaped profile (6 or 7) is provided with two hooking stops (10 or 11) and an extension (8 or 9) depending on whether it must be fixed to the ceiling or walls.  4) Device according to claims l and 2 characterized in that the cord (2) can be introduced into all types of fabrics in textile fabric or plastic sheets provided with a hem (3) made on the periphery of the canvas by bonding , sewing or welding (4).
