Abstract

The tool consists of a pincer with two pivoted handles (10,11) and two jaws (7,8), one of which has an aperture shaped to receive a stud/spike reversible fitting and extracting tip (4,6). The other jaw has a guide rail or clip (15) to hold other footwear maintenance accessories, e.g. a brush. The aperture in the first jaw (7) can be, for example, hexagonal in shape to receive a special tip used to screw in or unscrew crampons.
