Abstract

The assembly is composed of two parts, including a flexible rod that is incorporated in the cable bundle and a clip that fits over the flexible rod and has a stud on the opposite side to press into a hole in the vehicle structure. The flexible rod (1) has square profile grooves cut around its periphery at regular intervals. The rod is placed at the bottom of the cable bundle so the flexible jaws of the second part of the assembly will snap over the rod, engaging in the grooves to provide longitudinal location. The jaws are supported on an elongated curved tray (5) that fits over the outside of the cable bundle, extending a small distance round its periphery. The underside of this tray carries the fixing stud (7,8,9). Adhesive tape is then wrapped (20) round the cable bundle and over the ends of the curved tray.
