Abstract

The visor (1) is retracted into the helmet (2) or lowered by two pairs of rods (3) and springs (9). The rods pivot on axles (5,7) to form deformable parallelograms. The lower rods (4) have an oblong hole in which their axle on the helmet slides, to adjust the length between the axles. The traction springs, fixed to the axle of the lower rod and to the rod, pull the axles on the visor towards the axles on the helmet. When the visor has been lowered its lower edge (1a) is pulled into contact with the face by the rods.

Description

The invention relates to a device for vertically guiding a protective visor. can be used with or without the wearing of corrective glasses and retractable inside a safety helmet.

The guidance of this type of visor, by sets of rods forming articulated deformable parallelograms, arranged to the right and to the left of the protective visor, are well known. However, the use of this type of guide, which has only one degree of freedom, imposes a sufficient distance between the protective visor and the corrective glasses to avoid any catching during the operation of putting the visor into service. or vice versa. n results from this fact. in the service position, a serious lack of protection at the lower edge of the visor.

The invention therefore essentially aims to remedy this shortcoming and to provide a combined movement device which allows, in the retracted position inside the helmet (high position) the visor sufficiently spaced from the corrective glasses. to maneuver freely. without catching during raising or lowering of the visor and having in the service position (low position] the visor in front of the eyes with the lower edge of the visor applied to the face.

The description which follows with reference to the accompanying drawings by way of nonlimiting example will make it possible to understand how the invention can be put into practice.

In the descriptions and the drawings which follow, we often only consider one of the sides of the visor, in this case the left, the right side being symmetrical. In all the drawings, only the front part of the helmet which receives the visor is shown.

Figure 1 - shows a side view of a known device.

Figure 2 - shows a side view of a device according to the invention.

Figure 3 - shows a side view of a variant of the device.

La figure 4 - represente une coupe suivant un axe I I. Figure 4 - represents a section along an axis I I.

Figure 1 shows a protective visor (l) housed inside a helmet (2). for example on site, in the high position (H). To pass from the high position (H) to the low position (B) the visor is guided, on the right as on the left. by sets of links (3-4) forming between them deformable parallelograms, articulated inside the helmet (2) on the pins (5-6) and on the lateral faces (18) of the visor (1) on the pins (7-8). We are flying in Figure 1 in position (B) at the lower edge of the visor (1a) the space (E) left between the protective visor and the face of the user. This space is necessary to prevent the visor ( 1) does not hang the corrective glasses (10) during the downward or upward movement.

It therefore leaves an important passage to the projections directed along the niches (P-Pa) and therefore a serious lack of effectiveness in protection.

FIG. 2 shows a device according to the invention which is made up of deformable parallelograms constituted by high (3) and low (4) rods articulated on trunnions (5-6-7-81. The particularity of these parallelograms is the lower link (4) which is extendable along arrow (X). This extension can be obtained either by an oblong hole (43) shown here on one of the ends of the link (4) figure 2. Or by a telescopic link figure 2a - either by a properly elastic link Figure 2b molded in a suitable plastic material. This extendable link (4) cooperates with a spring (9) which tends to bring the joint (8) of the visor (l) to the pin (6 ) of the helmet (2) which has the effect of rotating the visor by a certain angle (Y) proportional to the travel (Xa). In this arrangement it is necessary to avoid hanging the corrective glasses (10) when we put the visor (l) in service, first move the visor aside leading to position (Ha) and keep it there during the downward movement. Arrived in position (B) the spring (9). under tension, brings the lower edge (1a) of the visor into contact with the face by rotating the visor according to the arrow (Z). The space (E) is reduced to zero, resulting in a significantly increased protection efficiency. During the visor raising operations, the movements are reversed.

In the embodiment according to Figure 3, the guidance is provided only by two rods (3) located one to the right the other to the left. This arrangement leaves the visor (1) with an additional degree of freedom since the visor is free to pivot in the two directions of rotation around the pin (7). The freedom of pivoting of the visor (1) is subject to a tension spring (1 1) attached to one of its ends on the helmet (2) at the anchoring point (13) and at the other end on the visor (1) at the anchoring point (l2). The spring (11) is placed so that it keeps the screw (l) apart for practically the entire up or down movement to avoid catching the corrective glasses (10). Indeed. under the action of the spring (1 1). slightly energized. the points (7-12-13) always remain online. At the end of the lower stroke, the lower edge (1a) pivots according to the arrow (FZ thereby keeping the bottom of the visor in contact with the face whatever the morphology. The user is thus completely protected from projections.

Figure 4 shows according to Figure 3. seen from above. the mechanisms of the device located on the left side of the visor. the mechanisms located on the right side are symmetrical.

As goes without saying and as it moreover already results from the foregoing, the invention is in no way limited to those of these modes of application and embodiments which have been more especially envisaged, it embraces them, on the contrary , all variants.
