Abstract

The bed comprises four pillars (1) standing at the corners of the bed, each pillar consisting of two telescopic sections with a spring between the sections. The spring may be a conventional coil spring, or a hydraulic or gas shock absorber type spring. A roof (2) is formed between the four pillars. An electronic control box (4) is provided with a switch (7) to activate an alarm system, and also to illuminate three lamps (5) fixed to the structure of the bed.

Description

The present invention relates to a bed for securing anyone living in an earthquake zone.

Currently some of these people, during an earthquake occurring at night may not wake up and be injured or crushed by falling glass, pieces of ceiling, beams, etc. Others may wake up, but the light being cut off, they find themselves in total darkness and risk the same dangers.

The devices according to the invention make it possible to overcome these drawbacks, avoid injuries, save lives.

The all-metal bed consists of a very rigid metal, is fixed to the ground and has, according to a first characteristic at each of its corners, a pillar of about 1.80 M, round or square, a real shock absorber, consisting of two parts, one sliding in the other and containing a very stiff spring. A pillar with any other type of shock absorber (gas, hydraulic, etc.) is also suitable.

A roof is fixed on the four pillars and will have to support any fall of beams, rubble ... It is advisable to manufacture this roof in light and very rigid materials. With the help of a computer, tests of resistance to the force caused by various rock falls can be done. This will give an overview of the solidity of the invention.

In addition, as an option, you can find attached to the bed within easy reach, an electronic boot maker operating with a dry battery.

This includes a pendulum system which can, under the action of vibrations, trigger an audible alarm located in the box and adjustable at will, and light three lamps connected to the box using electric wires. These lamps are housed in the bed structure.

A switch located on the box allows to switch on the system for the night or to switch it on for a determined time.

The accompanying drawings illustrate the invention. Figure 1 shows the devices according to the invention. Figure 2 shows a section through one of the four pillars; we see the two sliding parts as well as the spring.

Figures 3, 4 and 5 show various possible roof shapes. Figure 3 shows a dome shape, Figure 4 a shape made up of two arcs of a circle joining. Figure 5, a more classic form of roof formed by two slopes.

With reference to these drawings, the invention comprises four pillars (1) each comprising a fixed spring in one of the sliding parts in the other, or any other type of shock absorber.

A roof (2) is fixed on the four pillars (1). An electronic shoemaker (4) is fixed to the bed, it can trigger an audible alarm located in it and light three lamps (5) fixed in the structure of the assembly and each connected by an electric wire (6) to the box ( 4).

A switch (7) is located on the case (4), allows the device to be actuated at will.

The devices according to the invention are particularly intended to secure any person wishing to go to bed at night and living in an earthquake zone.

1) Device for protecting a sleeper from falls of various materials during an earthquake, characterized in that it consists of a roof (2) supported by shock absorbing pillars (1) arranged at the four corners of the bed, a housing (4) fitted with electronics which, thanks to a battery, can trigger an alarm located in the housing (4) and light three lamps (5) fixed in the frame of the bed. 2) Device according to claim 1 characterized in that each pillar (1), is formed of 2 sliding parts (Fig.2), containing a spring (3) or any other type of damper (gas, hydraulic, etc. ), on which is fixed a roof (2). 3) Device according to claim 1 characterized in that a box (4) provided with electronics allows at leisure to trigger an audible alarm located therein as well as to light three lamps (5) fixed in the frame of the bed .
