Abstract

The syringe comprises a thick-wall barrel with a conical tip for the needle and a sliding inner plunger (14) with a pointed tip (18) and a sealing piston. The piston is in the shape of an open chamber with holes (9) in its side walls and an end wall (12) which can be perforated by the pointed tip (18). The plunger is equipped with at least one crosspiece (16,17) in the form of a bar which applies a pressure to the piston on the operating stroke, and the barrel has an inner stop ring to limit the forward movement of the piston and ensure that it is perforated at the end of its stroke. Any attempt to re-fill the syringe causes it to draw in fluid, and the crosspieces break if a pressure is applied to them.

Description

SERINGUE A USAGE UNIQUE
SINGLE USE SYRINGE
The present invention relates to a single-use, non-reusable hypodermic syringe.

The previous problems posed by the use of so-called 2-piece or 3-piece syringes and summed up in a cylinder body, a sliding piston and a seal ensuring sealing, relate both to the manner of using the syringe and to its purpose
From the glass syringe, we switched to the disposable syringe, made of synthetic materials and then qualifying it as a disposable syringe; the principle remains the same: that of sealing for a more economical cotit and the simplest use
Unless there is a voluntary decision by the user, there is really no single-use syringe
The existing syringes which claim this effectiveness are either very complicated and not very easy to use, or, moreover, not economical to manufacture
The concept of comfort in terms of health and the need to cope with certain serious illnesses require everyone to insure themselves by using a non-reusable syringe.

To this end, the invention relates to the non-re-use of the so-called disposable syringe
The technical and industrial feasibility of this invention is comparable to that of standard models. It is easily achievable and does not require additional equipment or investment
The invention resides in the particular shape of the cylinder, of a piston capped with a perforating dart supported by a weakened plate, formed of branches, and of a seal specific to the invention comprising at least one lateral orifice; the front wall of the joint is thinned facilitating its perforation; the shape in branches forming the trays allows air intakes
The whole creates a room effect by air suction and discharge
Thus, under the effect of the pressure of the piston, during the injection phase, and of the friction and snap-stop means located on the cylinder, the dart perforates the thin thickness of the seal, at the level of a pre-cup. -perforated, creating an orifice through which the air passes, thereby reducing the pressure existing in the cylinder lumen. By this effect, and without affecting the effectiveness of the seal of the joint, the air passes between the branches of a tray and through the orifices of the joint, then leaves the chamber thereof towards the light. of the cylinder; hence the bedroom effect
The pressure rebalancing settles the syringe has become non-reusable; at each attempt to reuse the piston, it no longer sucks liquid but air
A variant of the invention, in order to ensure the advantage of the non-reuse of the syringe, lies in the breakage of the branches of the piston carrying the dart; the said branches can be conical or horizontal
Thus, during the pushing force, in the injection phase, and, after the perforation of the joint, the dart is lodged in the cylinder cone causing the breakage of the weakened branches of the plate, aided by thick the internal wall of the cylinder. The piston is no longer held at the joint by the branches of the plate, which have broken, becomes free and, during an attempt to reuse, returns alone, leaving the joint blocked at the bottom of the cylinder
The syringe is, then, self-destructing.

The technical and industrial realization of this in vention is simple because there is only one quasi-standard joint and that during manufacture or assembly no special precautions, apart from the adjustments of the usual machines , is only necessary
Consequently, it is a very economical achievement, complying with the requirements and safety required by the medical world.
The invention will be better understood as well as its advantages by means of the description which will follow with reference to the drawings in which
- Figure 1 is a view of the cylinder body and friction means and stop the seal.

- Figure 2 is a view of the piston provided with the perforating dart, with the plate in the form of weakened branches; the piston carries the seal
- Figure 3 is a view of the gasket, its orifices and the pre-perforable cup
- Figure 4 shows the tray in the form of weakened branches
- Figure 5 is a front view of the push plate of the joint provided with branches allowing air to pass
- Figure 6 shows schematically, in the high position the perforation of the joint by the dart which is housed in the cone of the cylinder
- Figure 7 shows the representation, in the low position, the chamber effect and the air movements; the piston, on this variant, still intact, is in the return position
Figure 1 shows the cylinder (1), body of the syringe, with a cone (2) where is housed the dart, and thickened walls (4,5) playing a throttling role located towards the inside of the cylinder , creating the compression of the elastic joint, to facilitate its perforation; the thickness of the wall decreases, starting from 2/3 of the cylinder (5) to the bottom of the cone (4), corresponding to friction means, as well as a stop means in the form of 'A so-called ratchet ring (6) located near the cone (4) of the cylinder. This crown creates a sufficient stop to accentuate the perforation of the joint while preserving a gentle application of the force, during the injection phase, in the lumiere of the cone (3).
The cylinder (1) receives the piston (15) mounted with an elastic seal (ï), which slides axially along the cylinder
The piston, as illustrated in FIG. 2, has fixed on its rod (15) longitudinal recesses (14) in the form of fins allowing air intakes towards the chamber (8) of the seal through the branches or holes forming the plate (16), on the one hand, and serving for guiding and gripping, on the other hand. The ends of the fins (14) decrease in order to recess, on one side, the pusher head of the piston (20) and the junction point of the pusher plate of the seal (16)
The dimension of the branches forming the plate (16) serving as the seal push-button (7) is smaller than
that of the fins (14) in order to obtain significant inlets and outlets for the air circulating between said branches.

In the extension of the piston (15), tapering up to its apical end forming a perforating dart (18), there is a plate (17) in the form of branches, support of the perforating element ( 18) and placed centrally on the piston (19); this plate serves as a carrier for the seal, during the injection phase
According to a variant of the invention, means for breaking the branches forming this plate (17) will be to use materials whose properties favor these breaks or by thinning parts of these branches close to the piston rod (21 ).

The variant, according to this procedure, will relate to a plate (17) sufficiently solid to bring back the piston (15) during aspiration and sufficiently frailized to the branches (17) to break, during the injection phase, opposed to the tensions exerted through the bottleneck (4,5) and to the thrust ring (6).

Thus, during an attempt at a second suction of liquid, the branches of the plate (17) abut on the ratchet ring (6) and on the bottleneck (4,5), and break. The piston (15,21) returns alone, leaving the seal (7) blocked at the bottom of the cylinder (3); this variant makes it possible to destroy the syringe. The feasibility of this type of plate is real requiring an automatic machine which spreads the lips of the joint to introduce the head of the piston therein (18,21)
According to the invention, the plates (16) and (17) are formed of branches allowing air intakes accentuating the chamber effect of the joint.
The shape of the joint (7), in a flowerpot or vase, hollow, provided with a large chamber, as indicated in FIG. 3, has a front base or a flared end (11) carrying a cup (12 ) pre-perforated, and comprises at least one laterally placed orifice (9), open at its distal base (13). It is used to maintain the seal (10) and create the chamber effect.

Mounted on the apical end of the piston (15,21), it is carried by the branches forming the plate (17) and abuts against the branches of the plate (16) which serves as a pusher during the injection phase
The front base of the seal (11) is thinned and carries a cup (12) to facilitate its perforation by the perforating element (18)
Under the force of application of the piston (15), the dart (18) perforates the thin wall (11,12) front of the seal.

A rebalancing of the pressures takes place between the pressure in the bottom of the cylinder (3) coming at the same time from 1 exercise of the effort on the residual volume and from the normal pressure existing in the chamber of the joint (8) . The tension of the residual liquid on the wall is canceled. I1 only remains the ambient pressure; there is no room effect yet
The syringe is no longer usable, therefore
In the event of re-use, by pulling the piston (15) the user will no longer suck up the liquid but the air; the same air coming from the back of the syringe
It is the chamber effect by air suction and discharge
The air passes through the spaces or holes existing between the branches forming the plate (16), the lateral orifices (9), the perforated orifice (12) of the joint, and return
The perforation section can be improved and controlled by the size of the cup (12)
Similarly, the lateral openings (9) of the seal and the large dimension of the chamber (8) of said seal without being essential can only improve this effect.

A second variant of this invention resides in that there are blocking notches (22) situated under the plate (16) and close to its base, in the form of protuberances of the fins or of the longituinal recesses (14). piston (15) and used to block the return of the piston, once the injection is made
