Abstract

Installation for storing and relieving the load on a motor vehicle windscreen wiper equipped with a window glass (2) bounded by lateral gutters (4) which has an arm articulated to the bodywork (1) of the vehicle, a wiper assembly (9) fixed to the arm and equipped with a flexible blade element (10), and a means for actuating the arm allowing it to bring the wiper assembly (9) into a position of rest parallel to a lateral edge (3) of the window glass (2), characterised in that each gutter (4) extends transversely above the window glass (2) and has at least one ramp (15) for relieving the load on the wiper assembly (9) when the latter is in the position of rest, so that the blade element (10) is no longer in bearing contact with the surface (6) of the window glass (2) and remains concealed by the said gutter (4).
