Abstract

Method making it possible to cause opening or closing of electrical circuits: for illumination, thermal regulation and/or other purposes, by operating a door lock of a dwelling which may be independent or not (such as a hotel or office), characterised by the dissociation of the opening/closing means between the outside and the inside; the external closing being caused only by a key entraining a lock bolt 3 stressing a mobile plate 4, while internal closing is caused, without addition of an auxiliary bolt called "half-turn" bolt, solely by operating a rotating knob 9 entraining a bolt 10 without a spring, and being positioned in a slot 15 and not shifting the moving plate 4, the latter in contact with one or more microswitches 8.

Description

We know the electric switch, the circuit breaker, a mechanical or electro-mechanical lock allowing to close the opening of a door, and that with a key and a rotary button, with or without the addition of a door closer to spring.

The method according to the invention allows the closing and / or opening using the door lock, of at least one electrical line in order to control an electrical power contactor for lighting or heating, a contactor for controlling reduction or frost protection of a heating regulation or thermostat, and this only when the last occupant crosses the door equipped with the lock concerned and slil wishes that no other person can enter, and this with the key of the outer barrel after performing a turn of the key.

The characteristics and advantages of the invention will be better understood by referring to the attached figures in which
the Figurel is a detail view of the inner face of the door in the closed position obtained by the key, while Figure 2 is a view of the inner face of the same door in the closed position obtained by an interior turning button.

In the two Figures, the same elements are designated by identical references.

In FIG. 1, the reference I designates the trunk of the lock. This lock is provided according to the invention with an only external half-barrel into which the key C is introduced, the rotation of which causes the lateral translation of at least one dead bolt 3, which itself causes the displacement of a mobile plate 4 guided by fixed rods 5 provided with springs 6. In the example shown, the dead bolts are two in number. The movement of the dead bolts ensures the closing of the lock from the outside. The displacement of the plate 4 bet the latter
in contact with at least two tab mini-switches
8a and 8b housed in the recessed strike 14 of the door frame, one of which controls the lighting, the other a thermostat
or a heating regulation. We notice that the operation
of the key in the lock controlled the closing of the door by the dead bolts 3 and that the lateral translation of the plate 4 controlled the opening / closing of the two circuits
concerned, i.e. the interruption of the lighting
rage and regulation of the room heater
simultaneously.

The opening of the door from the outside obtained by the rota
key in the opposite direction in the half-barrel 2 causes
the retraction of the dormant bolts 3 allowing the plate
mobile 4 to reverse the contacts of the mini-switches 8a
and 8b under the action of the springs 6 and to resume its posi
original normal tion 7. The occupant then finds
power supplies as it left before the
leaving the room.

The mini-switches 8a and 8b are connected by shims
appropriate for the devices they need to control.

For closing the door from the inside as shown
felt in FIG. 2, a single rotating knob 9 arranged
on the inside of the door, control the transla
tion to the right (in the direction of Arrow), translation
braked by a finger 12 provided with a spring, half bolt
tower 10 which is housed in the plate 13 through the
light 15 (Fig.l) and passes through the movable plate 4 without the
move, in the middle of the light ll practiced in this
last rotation of button 9 in either direction
causes the interior door to open or close
laughing.

Note that the U-bolt 10 is biased on its face
external to allow, in the event that it has been operated in the closed position, the door being ajar to retract upon contact with the plate 13, and it will be held by the finger 12 in the open position, which avoids to be locked outside under the action of a door closer or under the action of a draft.

For security reasons, the U-bolt 10 can be operated from the outside and for the opening only, by the key of the outer barrel 2.

It will also be noted that the dissociation of the closing elements between the outside and the inside, without any automatic closing mechanism, is the essential characteristic of the process which is the subject of the invention, and this by the obligation created by virtue of the absence of automatic closing such as a half-turn bolt actuated by a spring to be systematically engaged in its keeper.

The process finds applications for hotel rooms, hotel residences, all living rooms or offices, because with each short or prolonged absence of occupant, energy costs are minimized if, by forgetfulness it had not not switch off the lighting lamps, the hob or any other electrical element, or lower the set temperature of the heating regulation.

Method for obtaining the extinction and ignition of electrical lighting and heating circuits by the operation of a door lock for hotel rooms, homes and offices, characterized in that it consists on the one hand for the ewtérieur closure, to use obligatorily the key (C) of the external half-barrel (2) only, the rotation of the key controlling at least one dead bolt (3) which comes into contact with two mini -switches (8) housed in the keeper of the frame (14) of the door, and one of which controls the lighting, the other a thermostat or a heating regulation, the external opening or closing systematically reversing the contacts mini-switches (8), on the other hand to obtain the closing and the opening of the interior only by a rotary bolt (9) causing a latch bolt (10) not modifying the inversion of the desmini contacts -switches (8). 2. Means for obtaining the extinction and ignition of electrical lighting and heating circuits by the operation of a door lock for hotel rooms, homes and offices for the implementation of the method according to claim 1, characterized in that they comprise on the one hand a half-barrel lock (2) disposed on the external face only of the door which actuates by the key (C) the translation of at least one dead bolt (3) causing the displacement of a movable plate (4), guided by fixed rods (5) pressed by springs (6), the said plate acting on at least two tongue mini-switches (8) serving of  switches or reversing switches and being housed in  the keeper (14) embedded in the door frame, and other  hand, a button (9) disposed only on the inner face of the door and controlling the translation braked by a finger (12) on a spring from a latch bolt (housed in the plate of the keeper (14) and crossing the movable plate (4) without moving it in the middle of the light (11) in order to cause opening or closing of the door from the inside, the latch bolt being systematically deprived of a spring repositioning it at the outside of his boot or in the strike 14.
