Abstract

The subject of the invention is a process for making a cylindrical body having a cellular structure, and the body obtained. This process consists in injecting (1) a thermoplastic (4) into a mould (2) having a variable volume, and in increasing (5) the said volume, the material (4) still being in the pasty state and the mould (2) being hermetically sealed (3), in such a way that the body obtained comprises an internal region (10) having a cellular structure (6) and being encased with a cell-free solid region (8). Application to the manufacture of stoppers, in particular for bottles with a neck.
