Abstract

The invention relates to a device which enables the vapours given off when filling a hydrocarbon tank to be evacuated. It consists of a head (1) comprising a housing (2) at its centre surmounted by a delivery lug (3) with air intake, two lateral discharge (evacuation) orifices (4) connected to two bent suction pipes (5). A helical spring (6) fixed to the head (1) holds the latter on the end of the nozzle (8). As the tank is being filled, a contact seal (7) ensures the temporary leaktightness of the device. The hydrocarbon vapours are then absorbed by the two lateral orifices (4) connected to the two bent suction pipes (5) which link up with an air extractor. By virtue of the housing (2), which has a bevelled internal edge, the head (1) can pivot in all directions. The device according to the invention is particularly designed for hydrocarbon pump nozzles in service stations.
