Catheter for artificial insemination of sows, which comprises an elongate tube (10) whose front end has a plug-shaped thick part (11), the surface of which has a helicoid projection (13) for insertion through the vagina into the uterine neck of a sow, characterised in that the plug-shaped thick part (11) ends at the rear in a cylindrical part (14).
