Abstract

The weather strip is designed to be effective between a fixed panel (3), which may be glass, and a moving glass (4) in the door (P) of a vehicle. It consists of a single framing element (1), which has an extruded or partially moulded, form, which forms a sliding section (10) for the moving glass. It has at least one side section (100, 101), approximately vertical and rigid and an upper section (102), with at least one inner scraper acting on the glass. A peripheral strip (12) is designed to frame the edge of the fixed panel (3) and carries a closing strip (2), which is fixed in a removable manner to the framing element (1). USE/ADVANTAGE - It provides effective sealing, which is easily fitted.

Description

Sealing device for fixed panel and movable window of motor vehicle.

 The present invention relates to a sealing device for a fixed panel and a movable window of a motor vehicle door as well as its manufacturing method.

 In general, the sealing of a fixed panel or window and of a movable window is achieved by means of independent elements, mounted separately on the frame of the door and on either side of a metal upright.

 The assembly of these elements is a complex and delicate operation which requires the manual intervention of an operator who most often has to adjust the dimensions and the position of said elements to compensate for the phenomena linked to their manufacturing dispersion.

 As a result, the connections between the various elements are apparent and unattractive.

 In addition, these connections form areas where the seal is not satisfactory.

 The invention aims to solve these technical problems satisfactorily.

 This object is achieved in accordance with the invention by means of a sealing device for a fixed panel and a movable window of the door of a motor vehicle, characterized in that it comprises a framing element in one piece in the form coextruded and (or partially overmolded, consisting of a movable window slide with at least one substantially rigid vertical lateral section and an upper section, at least one lower movable window licker, a peripheral joint intended to frame the outer edge of the fixed panel and a locking element of said panel, produced in independent form and removably fixed to the framing element.

 According to advantageous characteristics, said rigid vertical section of the slide forms an intermediate upright between the movable glass and the fixed panel and said wiper is extended by an end portion at the bottom of the fixed panel beyond the junction with the backstage amount.

 According to another advantageous characteristic, said locking element .of fixed panel is removably mounted by means of a continuous fixing member, by a first section on said sliding post, by a second section on the peripheral joint and by a third section on the extended end of the wiper.

 In addition, provision is made for said locking element to be mounted inside the passenger compartment with respect to said fixed panel.

 According to yet another characteristic, said locking element further comprises a peripheral member for supporting the outer edge of the fixed panel against a continuous sealing lip of the slide upright, the peripheral seal and the end portion of the wiper. .

 According to the characteristics of the invention, said sliding upright comprises a first part provided with a U-shaped clamp and a flexible internal lip in contact with the movable window and a second T-shaped part provided with two rigid external lips. in contact with the respective external faces of the movable window of the fixed panel and of a flexible internal lip pivoting in contact with the lateral edge of the movable window.

 According to a particular embodiment, the two parts of the movable window slide upright are independent and connected by molding to at least one of their upper or lower ends; said second part being partially engaged in the U-shaped clamp of said first part.

 According to another embodiment, the two parts of the movable window slide amount are in one piece and in the extension of one another.

 According to advantageous characteristics, said fastening member of the locking element consists, on said first section, of a rigid plug intended to be inserted into the U-shaped clamp for fixing the slide post and on the second and third sections a flexible snap-on lip which is placed by elastic deformation in a corresponding internal housing formed on the peripheral seal and the extended end of the wiper.

 In addition, said locking element comprises a peripheral sealing surface coming into bearing contact against the internal face of the fixed panel and extending towards the interior of the passenger compartment by a covering lip.

 According to an alternative embodiment, the third section of the locking element comprises a support member for the lower edge of the fixed panel.

 Another object of the invention is a method of manufacturing a sealing device for a fixed panel and movable window of the door of motor vehicles comprising the coextrusion of a framing element in one piece comprising around a frame, a movable window slide with at least one rigid lateral section and an upper section, at least one lower wiper of movable window, a peripheral seal intended to frame the outer edge of a fixed panel and the partial connection molding between the aforementioned components and the extrusion of a locking element of the fixed panel; said locking element being adapted and intended to be removably fixed, during assembly of the device, on the framing element.

 The assembly of the device of the invention is very easy and can be carried out quickly and automatically since the components of the framing element are assembled from the manufacturing in one piece.

 It then only remains to install from the interior of the passenger compartment and frontally the fixed panel and then the locking element in one or more pieces.

 As a result, the replacement of the fixed panel becomes very easy.

 Another advantage of the invention lies in the fact that the upright is formed by the slide itself, which eliminates the introduction of a separate metallic upright and makes the device more homogeneous and therefore more waterproof.

 In addition, the aesthetic appearance and the finish of the entire device are improved.

 The device of the invention as shown in FIG. 1 comprises a framing element 1 in a single extruded and (or partially molded) part mounted on the frame of the door P and an independent locking element 2 (not shown in this figure) removably attached to the framing element 1 to lock the fixed panel 3 in its lateral position.

 The framing element 1 consists of a slide 10 of sliding window 4 comprising at least one substantially vertical rigid lateral section forming an upright (front or rear) intermediate between the movable sliding window 4 and the panel or fixed window 3 and an upper section 102.

 In FIG. 1, the door P is a rear door and the slide 10 comprises a front vertical section 103 and a rigid rear vertical section forming the upright 100, 101.

 The framing element 1 also comprises at least one lower licker 11. If there is only one lower licker then this licker will preferably be the external licker, but it may possibly also include an internal licker.

 In the latter case, the two lower wipers are joined by molding at their longitudinal ends and the movable window 4 then slides between the two wipers.

 The framing element 1 also comprises a peripheral seal 12 intended to frame the outer edge of the fixed glass panel 3.

 The frame formed by the slide 10 and the wiper 11 is preferably open at one of the corner fittings to facilitate mounting by giving a degree of freedom for adjustment.

 The locking element 2 is shaped as a loop, closed or open with a variable profile along said loop and in one or more pieces.

 The invention will be described in more detail with reference to Figures 2 to 9.

 FIG. 2 represents a vertical section along AA of the lower wiper 11 of FIG. 1.

 In this figure, the lower wiper 11 is in fact constituted by an external wiper 110 and an inner wiper 111 between which the window 4 moves while being in contact with the sealing and sliding lips 11 osa and villa.

 The exterior 110 and interior 111 lickers are fixed by anchoring clips 110b and 111b of U-section on the rabbet F respectively exterior and interior of the door.

 The external wiper 110 (and, optionally, the internal wiper 111) is extended by an end part 113 at the lower part of the fixed panel 3 beyond the junction with the upright 100, 101 of the slide (see FIGS. 6 and 9) .

 FIG. 3 represents a vertical section along BB of the upper slide 102 of FIG. 1.

 This slide has a traditional profile comprising several lips 1 02a respectively internal and external sealing and / or sliding pivoting under the action of the upper edge of the sliding window 4 and an anchoring clamp 1 02b in U on the rabbet F from the door.

 The upper slide 102 optionally includes on its external face an external trim 112.

 The upper slide 102 extends with the same profile downwards, constituting the front vertical section 103 (see FIG. 1).

 FIG. 4 represents a horizontal section along CC of a first embodiment of the sliding upright of FIG. 1.

 The amount consists of two parts. The first part 100 is disposed inside the passenger compartment and is provided with a flexible internal lip 100a in contact with the internal face of the sliding window 4 and with a clamp 100b of U-shaped section.

 The second part 101 has a T-shaped cross section provided with two external lips 101a, 101b in contact with the external faces, respectively of the movable window 4 and of the fixed panel 3, of a flexible internal lip 1 01c pivoting in contact with the lateral edge of the movable window 4 and of an internal lip 101d in contact with the peripheral edge of the fixed panel 3.

 In FIG. 4, the two parts 100, 101 are in one piece and are in line with one another by means of their internal frame 100 '.

 The sliding upright 100, 101 receives, in a removable manner from the interior of the passenger compartment, a locking element 2 of the fixed panel 3, independent of the framing element 1.

 The locking element 2 comprises on its periphery a continuous fixing member 200 allowing it to be mounted by a first section 21 on the upright 100, 101 of the slide, by a second section 22 on the peripheral seal 12 and by a third section 23 on the extended end 113 of the lower wiper 11.

 The locking element further comprises a peripheral support member 210 of the outer edge of the fixed panel 3 against a sealing lip produced continuously on the upright 100, 101 of the slide on the peripheral seal 12 and on the part of end 113 of the wiper.

 In FIG. 4, said continuous sealing lip of the sliding upright is formed by the external lip 101b of the second part 101 of said upright. The fixing member 200 of the locking element 2 is constituted on the first section 21 shown in FIG. 4, by a rigid plug 201 adapted and intended to be inserted into the clamp 100b in U of the first part 101 of the upright slide 10 where it is retained by the internal lips of the clamp. This plug 201 is stiffened by means of a coated central frame 20 which also arms the other parts of the first section 21.

 The support member 210 consists, for the first section 21 of FIG. 4, of a set of two lips 211 bearing against the inner face of the fixed panel 3 to press it against the external lip 101 b of the part 101 of the backstage.

 FIG. 5 represents a section along DD of the peripheral seal 12 of the framing element 1 and of the second section 22 of the locking element 2. The peripheral seal 12 comprises an external sealing lip 12a, a lip of upper seal 12b pressing against the peripheral edge of the fixed panel 3 and a fixing clip 1 2c in U for anchoring on the rebate F.

 In the embodiment of FIG. 5, the second section 22 of the locking element 2 comprises a fixing member 200 in the form of a flexible latching lip 202 which is placed by elastic deformation in an internal housing 122 of the peripheral seal 12.

 The support member 210 consists of a lip 212 symmetrical with the lip 202, pressing the panel 3 against the outer lip 12a of the peripheral seal 12 by bearing contact against the internal face of said panel 3.

The second section 22 of the locking element 2 also comprises a peripheral sealing surface 222 coming into bearing contact against the internal face of the panel 3 and extending towards the interior of the passenger compartment by a covering lip 220.

 FIG. 6 represents a section along EE of the framing element 1 and of the third section 23 of the locking element 2 at the level of the lower part of the fixed panel 3.

 The section EE is located at the extended end 113 of the lower wiper 11. The extended end 113 of the wiper 11 has an external sealing lip 113a in contact with contact against the external face of the fixed panel 3. L the extended end 113 also comprises a support member for the lower edge of the fixed panel 3 produced in the form of a lip 1 1 3b on which the panel 3 rests and of a fixing clip 1 1 3c in U for anchoring on rabbet F.

 As the rabbet F is located inside the passenger compartment with respect to the fixed panel 3, the clamp 1 1 3c in U is connected to the external part of the wiper 113 by a connecting part 113 'delimiting between the external part and the clamp 113c a housing for the fixing member 200 of the third section 23 of the locking element 2.

 The fixing member consists of a flexible latching lip 203 which is placed by elastic deformation in an internal housing 123 formed on the corresponding lateral face of the clamp 113c.

 The support member 210 formed by the lip 213 is ineffective with respect to the fixed panel 3 since the lip 33 is located below the level of the lower edge of said panel. The lip 213 is therefore just deformed by pressing against the internal edge of the external part of the wiper 113 to allow the introduction of the latching lip 203 in its housing.

 The third section 23 of the locking element 2 has a peripheral sealing surface 223 coming into bearing contact against the lower part of the internal face of the fixed panel 3. The sealing surface 223 extends inwards of the passenger compartment by a covering lip 220.

The support member 210 formed on the third section of the lip 213 engages in a cavity 1 13d formed on the inner edge of the external part of the wiper 113, to symmetrically retain the third section of the lip 203 23 in the wiper 113 of the framing element 1.

 FIG. 7 represents a section along CC of another embodiment of the sliding upright 100, 101 represented previously in FIG. 4.

 According to this variant, the two parts 100, 101 of the sliding upright are produced in independent forms and connected by molding or overmolding to at least one of their upper and lower ends.

 The second part 101 of the upright is partially engaged in the U-shaped clamp 100b of the first part 100 by a curved end part 101 e of its T-section profile, stiffened by its internal frame 101 '. The clamp 100b therefore receives both the plug 201 for fixing the first section 21 of the locking member 2 as well as the end part 101 e of the second part 101.

 Figures 8a and 8b show sections along BB and DD of another embodiment of the framing element 1 respectively at the upper slide 102 and the peripheral seal 12 and the second section 22 of the element lock 2.

 In FIG. 8a and with reference to FIG. 3, the upper section 102 of the slide 10 comprises an internal sealing and sliding lip 102a pivoting in contact with the upper edge of the movable window 4 and an anchoring clamp 1 02b in U for fixing on the door rabbet F.

 The upper slide 102 also includes a pivoting external part 102 under the action of the movable window 4 and the internal frame 102c of which is distinct from the internal frame of the clamp 102b.

 The pivoting external part allows contacting at least two sealing lips 102'a, 102'b respectively against the upper edge and against the external face of the movable window 4.

 In FIG. 8b, with reference to FIG. 5, the peripheral seal 12 has a profile identical to that of the upper slide 102 shown in FIG. 8a.

 The pivoting outer part 102 ′ is locked in the sealing position by pressing the upper edge of the fixed panel 3.

 The second section 22 of the locking element 2 comprises a fixing member 200 in the form of a flexible snap-fit lip 202 ′, the end of which is curved and deforms elastically so as to be placed in the internal space 122 ′ delimited by the internal lips 102 ′ a, and 102 a of the peripheral seal 12 which are folded in an elastic manner. The mounting of a fixed panel such as a quarter window therefore becomes very easy.

 The second section 22 also includes a peripheral sealing surface 222 'bearing against the internal face of the fixed panel 3 under the action of the lip 102a.

 The entire assembly thus produced by cooperation between the second section 22 and the peripheral seal 12 causes the peripheral edge of the fixed panel 3 to press against the external lip 102'b.

 The second section 22 also includes a covering lip 220 extending the sealing surface 222 'towards the interior of the passenger compartment.

 In the embodiment of Figure 8b, the locking element 2 is preferably made of at least two separate parts; the first section 21 forming a first part and the second 22 and (or the third 23 section forming a second part.

 FIG. 9 represents a section according to EE of another embodiment of the device of the invention with reference to FIG. 6.

 The door has an outer rabbet F1 and an inner rabbet F2. The extended end to the lower lick 1 1 comprises an outer part 113 and an inner part 114 fixed respectively by anchoring clips 113c and 114c to the rabbets F1 and F2.

 The exterior 113 and interior 114 parts are separate and surround the fixed panel 3.

 The third section 23 of the locking element 2 comprises a support member 230 of the lower edge of the fixed panel 3. This support member is reinforced and L-shaped and has lips 230a for retaining on the inner edge of the outer part 113 from the extended end of the wiper. The third section also includes a peripheral sealing surface 223 in bearing contact with the lower part of the external face of the fixed panel 3.

 In this way, the support member 230 is inserted by force into the space between the fixed window 3 and the internal face of the external part 113 of the wiper and thus locks the fixed window in the mounted position.

 Advantageously, the inner part 114 also includes a boss 1 1 4a bearing against the internal face of the fixed panel and a covering lip 1 14b extending towards the interior of the passenger compartment.

 The outer 113 and inner 114 parts of the extended end of the wiper are joined at the common connection with the peripheral seal 12.

This latter embodiment can also be applied when, for example, the only door rebate F1 is situated outside the passenger compartment and there is no internal rebate F2 or when this has been removed to mount the fixed panel 3. In this latter case, the internal rebate is created or replaced by an added rebate
F'2.

 The framing element of the invention is first produced by coextrusion in a single piece around a frame, of the slide 10 of movable glass, of one (or two wipers, interior and exterior) of movable glass and of the peripheral seal 12 then the overmolding of connections between the aforementioned components.

Claims (25)

1. Sealing device for a fixed panel (3) and a movable window (4) of the door (P) of a motor vehicle, characterized in that it comprises a framing element (1) in one piece in the form coextruded and (or partially overmolded, consisting of a sliding window (10) with at least one substantially rigid lateral section (100,101) and an upper rigid section (102), at least one lower wiper (11,110,111,113,114), a peripheral seal (12) intended to frame the outer edge of the fixed panel (3) and a locking element (2) of said panel, produced in independent form and removably fixed to the framing element (1). 2. Device according to claim 1, characterized in that said rigid vertical section (100,101) of the slide (10) forms an intermediate upright between the movable window (4) and the fixed panel (3). 3. Device according to claim 2, characterized in that said wiper (11) is extended by an end part (113,114) at the bottom of the fixed panel (3) beyond the junction with the upright (100,101) slide (10). 4. Device according to claim 3, characterized in that said locking element (2) of fixed panel (3) is removably mounted by means of a continuous fixing member (200), by a first section (21) on said amount (100,101) of slide, by a second section (22) on the peripheral seal (12) and by a third section (23) on the extended end (113,114) of the wiper (11). 5. Device according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that said locking element (2) is formed in a closed or open loop with a variable profile along the loop. 6. Device according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that said locking element (2) is mounted inside the passenger compartment with respect to said fixed panel (3). 7. Device according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the frame formed by the slide (10) and the wiper (11) is open at one of the corner fittings to facilitate assembly. 8. Device according to claim 4, characterized in that said locking element (2) further comprises a peripheral support member (210) of the outer edge of the fixed panel (3) against a continuous sealing lip (101 b; 12a, 113a) of the amount (100,101) of the slide (10), of the peripheral seal (12) and of the extended end (113,114) of the wiper (11). 9. Device according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that it comprises two lower lickers (110,111) connected by molding; an external wiper (110) to the passenger compartment, over at least part of its length in contact with the movable window and an interior wiper (111), between which the movable window (4) moves. 10. Device according to one of claims 3 or 9, characterized in that said lower wiper (11) comprises at its extended end (113,114) a support member (113b) of the lower edge of the fixed panel (3). 11. Device according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that said sliding upright (10) comprises a first part (101) provided with a clamp (100b) in a U shape and with a flexible internal lip (100a) at contact of the movable window (4) and a second T-shaped part (101) provided with two rigid external lips (101a, 101b) in contact with the respective external faces of the movable window (4) of the fixed panel (3) and of a flexible internal lip (101d) pivoting in contact with the lateral edge of the movable window (3). 12. Device according to one of claim 11, characterized in that the two parts (100, 101) of the sliding upright (10) of movable glass (3) are independent and connected by molding at at least one of their ends higher or lower; said second part (101) being partially engaged in the U-shaped clamp (100b) of said first part (100). 13. Device according to claim 11, characterized in that the two parts (100,101) of the sliding upright (10) of movable window (4) are in one piece and in the extension of one another. 14. Device according to one of claims 4 and 11, characterized in that said fixing member (200) of the locking element (2) consists, on said first section (21), of a rigid plug ( 201) intended to be inserted into the U-shaped clamp (100b) of the upright (100,101) of the slide. 15. Device according to one of claims 4 or 8, characterized in that the fixing member (200) of the locking element (2) consists, on the second (22) and third (23) sections, a flexible snap-on lip (202,202 ′, 203) placed by elastic deformation in a corresponding internal housing (122,122 ′, 123) formed on the peripheral seal (12) and the extended end (113) of the wiper. 16. Device according to claim 15, characterized in that said latching lip (202,202 ', 203) is symmetrical with the support member (212,213). 17. Device according to one of claims 8, 15 or 16, characterized in that said locking element (2) comprises a peripheral sealing surface (222,222 ', 223) coming into bearing contact against the internal face of the fixed panel (3) and extending towards the interior of the passenger compartment by a covering lip (220). 18. Device according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the profile of the upper slide (102) of movable glass (4) is identical to that of the peripheral seal (12) of the fixed panel (3). 19. Device according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that said locking element (2) is made in one piece 20. Device according to one of claims 1 to 18, characterized in that said locking element (2) is made of at least two separate parts; the first part consisting of the first section (21) while the second part comprises the second (22) and third (23) sections. 21. Device according to claim 3, characterized in that the extended end (113) of the wiper (11) has a fixing member (113c) to the door rebate (F), located inside the passenger compartment with respect to said fixed panel (3). 22. Device according to claim 3, characterized in that the extended end of the wiper (11) comprises an outer part (113) and an inner part (114) to the passenger compartment, separated and between which the fixed panel is mounted ( 3). 23. Device according to one of claims 4, 8, 15 or 17, characterized in that the third section (23) of the locking element (2) comprises a support member (230) of the lower edge of the fixed panel (3). 24. Device according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that said fixed panel (3) is a quarter window. 25. A method of manufacturing a sealing device for a fixed panel and movable window of the door of motor vehicles, characterized in that the coextrusion of a framing element (1) is carried out in a single piece comprising around a frame, a movable window slide with at least one rigid lateral section and an upper section, at least one lower wiper of movable window, a peripheral seal intended to frame the outer edge of a fixed panel and the molding of partial connections between the aforementioned components and the extrusion of a locking element (2) from the fixed panel; said locking element being adapted and intended to be removably fixed, during assembly of the device, on the framing element (1).
