Abstract

The process first moulds or sculpts a block of compact chemical foam (1) into a suitable vase shape. This is then stepped into a bath of wet plaster, cement or other moulding material so that the block is covered with the material (3), except for its upper surface (2). The covering material can be coloured to improve its appearance, and its outer surface is varnished (4) to prevent water loss. The flowers are pushed into the upper surface of the block. USE/ADVANTAGE - Fabrication of foam block for arranging fresh or dried flowers without needing container.

Description

DESCRIPTION
TITRE
DESCRIPTION
TITLE
Uniblock floral display by molding around compact chemical foam previously shaped.

DOMAINE TECHNIOUE DE L'INVENTION
Décoration florale.
TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION
Floral decoration.

INDICATION OF THE PRIOR ART STATE
Various compact chemical foams are currently marketed in cubic form, which florists and other professionals use for the implantation of fresh or dried flowers in order to obtain floral presentations.

These foams do not have a presentable aesthetic appearance, the users fit them, after a preliminary shaping, in different pottery, vases or other containers, in order to conceal the foam and especially in the case where it is soaked with water (fresh flowers) so that it does not spread.

This technique has certain drawbacks: containers are needed, the foam has to be cut so that it takes the shape of said container, the cost is then expensive.

OF THE INVENTION It is a question of giving (by molding or sculpture) different aesthetic forms to the foam from its manufacture and of coating it thus shaped by soaking and / or spraying or any other means achieving a similar result. . The foam being porous lends itself perfectly to this molding since it absorbs the water necessary for the preparation of plaster or cement which then marries it perfectly. The coating products envisaged are plaster and cement, but other products could be used. These products can be tinted before they are coated around the foam and then, after drying, varnished in order to definitively avoid water leaks.

Figure 1 shows a molding model according to the invention.

With reference to this drawing, the central part consists of the block of compact chemical foam molded in the shape of a vase (1), the upper face (2) of which is intended for implanting the flowers.

This block is coated by the tinted molding (3) to which a varnish (4) has been applied.

We understand that this technique has different advantages - the user no longer needs to cut the foam since it
has already been shaped by the manufacturer and that the molding
adapts around, - the aesthetic side is improved both by the multiplicity of
shapes that we can give to molding only by the colors that
we can attribute to it, - the foam coated on five sides out of six (the one remaining bare
will be used for planting the flowers) will keep longer
the water it contains, - the cost price is much less expensive: this process
allowing the development of a finished product avoids investing
in a container while the primary interest is the
contained floral presentation.

This process is likely to be automated since it is possible to carry out the foam molds in the chain and then to make them so shaped scroll on a conveyor belt or from a robotic machine provided with a gripper end would seize them to soak them in either plaster or cement or other baths before they finish their journey to a drying plan and then a spray painting also automated.
