Abstract

The bracket comprises a body (10) shaped to engage with a part of the sight support (5), a locking mechanism (15 - 18) to fix it to the support in a definite and precise position, and a support (23) for the accessory, shaped to receive the base of the latter and fix it in position. The body has an aperture (19, 20) which enables the person firing the weapon to use the sight without detaching the bracket, while the locking mechanism is in the form of a screw (16) passing through a threaded hole in the body and equipped with a thrust element (18) on its tip to engage with the sight support. The thrust element is made from a softer material than the sight support, e.g. of bronze. The support (23) for the accessory can be equipped with an elastic element, e.g. in the form of steel rods, which deforms when the accessory is fixed in place. ADVANTAGE - Simple and reliable fixing for accessory, with low cost and more convenient to use.
