Abstract
The gear lever (2) is movable in two orthogonal planes for selection and engagement respectively of a particular ratio by translation and rotation of a shaft (3) coupled to clutches (4). Additional torque for the rotation is exerted by a belt drive (6) from an electric motor (5) subject to an electronic controller (7). Logic operations are performed on inputs (8-11) w.r.t. stored characteristics for desired or limit values of motor speed, torque and direction. Significant values are displayed (14) to the driver. ADVANTAGE - Auxiliary power is generated almost noiselessly and is easily adjusted to meet any requirements.
