Abstract

This is a lighting window comprising a base (10), a socket support (13), which, forming a separate part from the base (10), is adapted to be removably attached thereto. , then closing the connection compartment (11) provided for the arrival of a cable, a reflector (18), and a diffuser. Description

The present invention relates in a manner

  generally the lighting windows, that is to say the luminaires which, commonly called portholes, are intended to be applied on any support surface, such as wall or ceiling. It aims more particularly, but not necessarily exclusively those of these windows lighting, likely to be possibly subjected to a certain humidity, as may be the case in the entrances, stairs, or cellars of some buildings to use collective, must for security

  sealing and meet certain normative requirements.

  In particular, it is important that, in the absence of a land line, they provide enhanced protection at the level of

live parts.

  The corresponding illumination windows comprise, to date, a pedestal, which is adapted to their seating on the support surface to be equipped, and which has on the surface a compartment, here referred to simply as a connection compartment, in which which is likely to open the necessary power cable, a socket holder, which comprises a housing by which it is adapted to receive a socket, and which, forming a separate part of the base, is adapted to be removably attached to it, then closing its connection compartment, and a diffuser, which, too, is adapted to be attached to the base, around the connection compartment, delimiting

  with the base the volume necessary for housing a bulb.

  To comply with the standard, any access to the connection compartment must be forbidden

normal without the help of a tool.

  To date, the socket support is attached to do this by screwing on the base, and in practice, several screws,

  for example, three are necessary for this purpose.

  But it often turns out that, in the long term, and consequently for example of an oversight, one or more of these screws come

  all certainty in a very simple way to this security.

In a manner known per se, this illumination window comprises a base 10, which is adapted to its seat on any support surface to be equipped, and which, according to the methods described in more detail later, has on the surface a compartment 11, said connecting compartment, in which is likely to open the necessary power cable 12, a socket support 13, which has a housing 14 by which it is adapted to receive a socket 15, and which forming a separate part of the base 10, is adapted to be removably attached to it, then closing its connection compartment 11, and a diffuser 16, which is also adapted to be attached to the base 10, around the connection compartment 11, in delimiting with this base 10 the volume needed for housing

of a bulb, not shown.

  Also known in itself, the diffuser 16, which is translucent, if not transparent, is made of glass or synthetic material, and, for example, it is reported on

  the base 10 by a bayonet type mounting.

  The corresponding arrangements being well known by themselves, and not falling within the scope of the present invention, they

  will not be described in more detail here.

  Also known per se, the illumination window according to the invention comprises, in addition, in the embodiment shown, a reflector 18, intended to be superimposed on the bottom 20 of the base 10, on at least a part of

  the surface of this bottom 20, under the bulb implemented.

  This is, for example, a simple metal blank,

  thin, suitably cut and shaped.

  In the embodiment shown, the base 10 has an outer side wall 21, which is generally frustoconical, going flaring backwards, and an inner side wall 22, which is also generally frustoconical, going in s flaring forward. These two outer and inner side walls 21, 22 join forward, jointly forming a groove

  23 circular own at the reception of the diffuser 16.

  The connection compartment is adjacent to the

inner side wall 22.

  It extends between two bosses 24 which, also adjacent to this inner side wall 22, protrude from the bottom 20, extending generally along the same rope

of it.

  The connection compartment 11 thus opens outwards both in front, perpendicularly to the bottom 20, that

  In other words, the connection compartment 11 has an upper outlet 25, level with the upper surface of the bosses 24 which delimit it, and an outlet

  In the embodiment shown, the sliding mounting means comprise two slides 28 which, parallel to one another, are provided on the base 10, on either side of the connection compartment 11, and with which socket support 13 is adapted to engage

sliding.

  In practice, the slides 28 protrude from the upper surface of the bosses 24 of the base 10, with angled returns 29 directed towards each other, parallel to this upper surface, at a distance from the latter, and they are each respectively preceded by oblique engagement walls 30, which, directed towards their bottom 31, thus forming together a frustoconical chute, are adapted to

  facilitate the engagement of the socket support 13.

  The sleeve support 13 comprises, in dihedral, on the one hand, a sole 32, by which it is adapted to conceal the upper outlet 25 of the connection compartment 11, and, on the other hand, a fallen edge 34, by which it is suitable for

Between the socket support 13 and the base 10 there are support and guiding means which, when the socket support 13 is put in place, and as subsequently explained, enable this socket support 13 to find a support on the base 10 upstream of the mounting means

  In the embodiment shown, these bearing and guiding means comprise, on the base 10, a boss 38, which, intermediate the bosses 24, protrudes from the bottom 20, in the connection compartment 11, and, on the socket support 13, a partition 39, by which it is adapted to bear on this boss 38, and, more precisely, on

  the upper surface 40, parallel to the bottom 20, thereof.

  This partition 39 of the socket support 13 protrudes on its lower surface, parallel to the slices

lateral 35 of its sole 32.

  In practice, it extends from the wall

  side of the housing 14 that it comprises for the socket 15.

  As for the boss 38 of the base 10, it is level with

  the lateral opening 26 of the connection compartment 11.

  In other words, its upper surface 40 is level

  with the bottom 41 of this lateral outlet 26.

  Preferably, and as shown, the lateral outlet 26 of the connection compartment is preceded by an oblique engagement wall 42 which meets its level, and more specifically, that of its bottom 41, in continuity with the

  upper surface 40 of the boss 38.

  In practice, this oblique engagement wall 42 extends along a rope of the bottom 20, along the entire length of this rope, by connecting the two bosses 24 to one another, and along its opposite edge these bosses 24, it is connected to the bottom 20 by a straight wall 43 perpendicular thereto. The latching locking means intervening between the socket support 13 and the base 10 comprise, in a general manner, on any of the elements that constitute this socket support 13 and this base 10, at least one elastically deformable tongue 45 and on the other of these elements, a retaining catch 46 with which this tongue

  In the embodiment shown in FIGS. 1 to 9, a single elastically deformable tongue 45

  is provided, and it equips the socket support 13.

  In practice, the elastically deformable tongue 45 extends in a door-to-base from the free edge of the fallen edge 34 of the socket support 13, forming with this falling edge 34 a dihedral of orientation opposite to that which it forms with the

sole 32.

  The elastically deformable tongue 45 is thus able to be superposed on this oblique engagement wall 42, on a

  protruding on the lower surface thereof.

  Of general shape in a bowl, the reflector 18 has a circular edge 55, at the contour of the internal lateral wall 22 of the base 10, and a straight edge 56, which, like the oblique engagement wall 42 of the latter, ci, extends globally

following a rope.

  This straight edge 56 has a notch 57 in its

  middle zone, for its engagement under the socket 15.

  It furthermore, disposed respectively on either side of this notch 57, returns 58 by which it is able to cover at least part of the socket support 13 when it is in place on the base 10, at the right of the slides 28, thus opposing the withdrawal of this socket support 13 without the need to

  The fixing of the reflector 18 to the base 10 is done by at least one screw 60. In the embodiments shown, only such a screw 60 is provided, and preferentially, it is made

  In the embodiment shown, three knockouts 64 are provided in the compartment of

  connection 11, one by projection 24, 38.

  For the case where the illumination window according to the invention would be arranged vertically on a wall, it is also provided, on the bottom of the groove 23 of the base 10, in positions diametrically opposite to each other, one on the side of the threaded inlet 62, the other on the opposite side thereof, two knockouts 66, to ensure an evacuation
