Abstract

The invention relates to a binding method for assembling a series of sheets in a cover to form a record, which sheets are formed by folding double sheets so that signatures (4) can be made, and these signatures will be assembled by stitching, that is by passing a thread (7) through their spine (8), and these, after assembly, will together form the volume which will then be placed in a cover. It is characterised in that: - on the one hand, by making use of the stitches binding the sheets in signatures, each signature is connected to the interior (10) of a group file (9) and - on the other hand, the network of stitching threads (7) of the signatures are pasted only on the outside (11) of the group file (9) using a paste which remains flexible.

L'invention se rapporte à un procédé de reliure ainsi qu'aux moyens en vue de sa mise en oeuvre et à l'ouvrage ainsi obtenu. The invention relates to a binding process as well as to the means for its implementation and to the work thus obtained.

- un encollage du dos des cahiers qui permet à la colle de s'infiltrer entre les cahiers et même dans ceux-ci via les orifices de passage de fil et de gêner ensuite l'ouverture complète de pages,
- un encollage avec une colle d'os dite forte qui rigidifie le dos du volume et interdit son ouverture complète par exemple pour prendre une photocopie nette,

Method according to claim 2 characterized in that, after gluing the nodes (14) and the network (13) of son (7), always applied to the outside (11) of the mounting file (9), on the entire surface of the sizing (12), a mesh fabric (15) by which the assembly is "welded" while preserving the flexibility of the volume.

4. Method according to any one of claims 1 to 3 characterized in that at least locally the mounting file (9) is made of tear-resistant material, alone (18) or laminated to at least one support (19).

Method according to any one of claims 1 to 4 characterized in that double the back (20) of each of the double sheets (3) constituting the notebooks (4) and, to constitute each of these double sheets (3 ), the margins (21) of two simple sheets (22) are glued one on the other which have the height of the sheets (2) in height but which, in width, are wider than the sheets (2) of the value of half the width of the part (20) to be doubled.

6. Method according to any one of claims 1 to 5 characterized in that in order to facilitate the assembly of the single sheets (22), holes are previously drilled in them (23) of small diameter marking the points passage of the sewing thread (7) and, for assembly, the two single sheets (22) are engaged through their holes on at least two same positioning pins (24).

7. Method according to any one of claims 1 to 6 characterized in that the notebooks are mounted on the mounting file (9) reserving between the backs of the notebooks (4) a distance greater than the thickness of the notebooks ( 4).

8. Means for implementing the method according to any one of claims 1 to 7, characterized in that they comprise:

- an assembly file (9) at least locally of tear-resistant material having on its back (26) as many lines (27) of perforations (28) as of notebooks (4) which can be assembled and whose positions of the perforations (28) of each of them correspond to the positions of the stitches (17) of sewing of each notebook (4), and

- a cover (32) adaptable to the mounting file (9).
