Abstract

The invention consists in reducing the bulk of empty plastic bottles by nesting, after cutting, the separated sections of the same bottle and of bottles with each other. The nesting plastic bottle is characterised by a very special shape, by a judiciously located cutting line, by a moulding and a cavity and by cutting tools specially adapted to its shape. This invention is particularly intended for the packaging, packing and recycling industries.

Description

The present invention relates to the field of packaging, packaging and recycling industries. It was designed to have a significant and very positive impact on the environment. Managing household waste involves selective sorting of the various recyclable materials. The selective collection of plastic bottles facilitates the elimination of other waste. Various public authorities, both French and foreign, have adopted different solutions for collecting plastic bottles. They all face the same problem: the large volume (useless and cumbersome) of empty containers.

All the studies made, all the solutions recommended so far to improve this thorny problem of collection have always been placed downstream of the consumer. They all start from the bottle as put on the market by the manufacturer.

The present invention is placed upstream of the consumer by proposing to the manufacturers of packaging to put on the market a plastic bottle specially adapted to the problem of collection.

Europe is gradually moving towards a selective sorting of waste at the base. The individual will soon have "two bins to take out".

Each consumer will therefore be interested in reducing the volume of packaging in the second bin for recycling.

The invention is characterized by a shape of bottle specially designed to allow after cutting on a judiciously located location, the separation into two parts of the container in order to fit them into each other and to be able to fit the bottles 7a suite one inside the other in order to obtain an appreciable reduction in volume.

The series of figures 2s 3 4 and 5 eloquently shows how this reduction in volume takes place.

In order not to load the drawing, Figure 5 only shows 3 nested bottles but the number is not limited.

The specially studied shape of the bottle is inscribed in two trunks of cones.

The location (1) of the cut, judiciously located at the junction of the two trunks of cones, is characterized by a circular molding, hollow on the external face of the container and in relief on the internal face.

The hollow circular molding on the external face of the container is itself characterized by a cavity (2), turned towards the inside of the container located at any point in the circle> and intended to receive the cutting head of a cutting tool. cutting.

There is already known a process allowing a reduction in volume after use of plastic containers. The innovation presented here brings a clear improvement to this process by facilitating the cutting of the container - generally a bottle - by the incorporation of a molding and a cavity in the shape of the bottle and by cutting tools. more elaborate and better suited to the container.

The bottle can be cut with a simple pocket or kitchen knife but, for the occasion, a tool has been designed, called a cutter, offered here in three models.

Figure 7 shows how a cutter is placed in the molding and in the bottle cavity.

These three cutters are all characterized by:
-A shape and dimensions adapted to the molding of the nestable plastic bottle.

 -A sharp head adapted to the cavity of the bottle.

 - A protected sharp part to make it harmless for the user.

 - A sharp part (3) at the diagonal cutting line to facilitate the initiation of cutting.

 -A very thin cutting part in order to offer the least resistance possible to the cutting work.

-A bumper (4)
The stopper (4)> common part of each cutter is characterized by a conical shape (5) and a flat spout (6).

-The conical shape has a double function:

The gesture of the individual throwing a plastic bottle in a container can, thanks to the nestable bottle, be much more effective at the same time. The weight of a plastic bottle being negligible (about 30 gr.) We can indeed consider that the same gesture will be used to introduce 5 to 10 plastic bottles instead of just one.

The advertising sector will not fail to take an interest in the nestable bottle to introduce it into the growing list of "eco-products" or "green products".
