Description

The present invention relates to a container such as a food pot, of the type comprising an opening surrounded by a flange normally covered with a detachable sealing cap.

In the patent application FR-A-2 927 614 filed by the applicant, is present a food packaging. It consists of a container which is in the form of a cup and whose opening is surrounded by a rim which is covered at the end of the filling by a protective cover of its contents. The lid is extended, outside the rim, by a tongue allowing its detachment of the rim by the consumer. A lid covers the opening of the cup. It consists of a closure wall surrounded by a skirt capable of capping the rim to close the opening.

When the lid is removed, the container can still be closed by its cover, to preserve the product it contains while it has not been fully consumed.

We still know from reading the document DE-A1-43 00 77 which is considered the document closest to the subject of claim 1, a closure of the open area of a container for products that may be dumped. The opening of the container is surrounded by a rim covered by an adherent and peelable foil. A flap is formed locally around the rim in a corner of the container. It consists of two legs joined in the middle by a tongue and which originated on folding incisions. The legs are separated from the other part of the rim by a dividing line. By lifting the flap, the opening of the container is partially disengaged. The flap is reclosable through contact areas present vis-à-vis the two parts of the flange.

The applicant has sought a solution to design a container of general application, without cover, but which can however protect its contents between two uses.

For this purpose, there is provided a container of the type comprising an opening surrounded by a rim normally covered with a detachable sealing cap; according to the invention, a cutout passes locally through said flange so as to delimit a flap that can be raised to take off the lid to partially disengage said opening, the flap remaining attached at the ends of said cut.

By raising the flap, the consumer loosens locally the seal of the inner portion of the rim and the contained product can then be used, dumped. The flap can be closed on the rim, like a cover to protect the contained product. The lid that remains secured to the flap is applied to the inner portion of the flange.

Being a food pot, its contents can be drunk or consumed.

According to an additional feature of the invention, the flap is connected to the inner part of the rim, via a frangible zone.

The closure of the flap replaces vis-à-vis the fractured parts that cooperate together to keep clipped the flap in its closed position of the container.

According to an additional feature of the invention, the frangible zone is located in the middle of the length of the cut.

The opening of the flap is facilitated when cutting this frangible zone.

According to an additional feature of the invention, the flap is bordered by a skirt which extends from below over substantially the entire length of the cut.

The skirt facilitates the gripping of the flap and gives it a rigidity making it an articulated lid.

According to an additional feature of the invention, the lid is secured to the rim by a heat input.

It can be removed by hand easily while opening the flap. By closing the flap, the user closes the food pot.

According to an additional feature of the invention, the rim has at least one corner, the cut being made in said corner.

In this corner geometry, a spout can easily be integrated into the container design.

According to an additional feature of the invention, the cutout has a top view, a circumflex accented geometry or an arcuate geometry. In the first case, this geometry is preferably suitable for containers whose opening is square or oval. In the second case, it is preferably suitable for containers whose opening is round.

According to an additional feature of the invention, the length of the cutout extends over a distance necessary for sufficient clearance of the opening to allow the spill of its contents, when the flap is raised.

According to an additional feature of the invention, a spout is formed between the opening of the opening and a constituent belt wall of said container, the outlet of the spout being surrounded by the cut.

The container 100 presented on the Fig. 1 is intended to contain a product. On this Fig. 1 , the container takes the form of a food pot designed to contain a foodstuff.

The food pot is likely to be hand-held. On this Fig. 1 , the food pot has a pyramidal section whose small base 102 is its bottom and whose large base 104 is its opening, this opening 104 is surrounded by a flange 106 whose upper face is preferably flat. A wall of belt 110, consisting of four faces joined by rounded portions, connects the bottom 202 of the food pot, at its opening 104, to define the volume of its capacity.

Ribs 112 at least locally cover two opposite sides of the waist wall 110 to isolate the food pot from the heat when the consumer grasps it holding it by said ribs. They also help increase the rigidity of the food pot.

The opening 104 is covered at the end of the filling of the food pot with a protective cover 200 of its contents. This operculum is advantageously deposited and then secured to the rim 106 by a heat input using a heating cord for local thermal fusion of the lid on the edge of the food pot. It then closes tightly to preserve the product it contains. Polypropylene can be used to make the food pot and its lid.

On the Fig. 2 , a cutout 120 passes through the thickness of the flange 106, at a corner of the food pot. It thus delimits an outer flap 130, normally located in the same plane as that of the flange 106. The cutout 120 has a top view of a circumflex accented geometry. It is preferably positioned from the inside edge of the rim, at a distance greater than more than half of the width 1 of the flange so that the lid can adhere sufficiently thereon.

La largeur de la découpe est constante sur toute sa longueur excepté vers sa pointe, c'est-à-dire au sommet de sa géométrie en accent circonflexe où le rabat 130 est relié par une zone frangible R à la partie intérieure du rebord 106.The width of the cut is constant over its entire length except towards its tip, that is to say at the top of its geometry in circumflex accent where the flap 130 is connected by a frangible zone R to the inner part of the flange 106.

On the Fig. 3 , the consumer can lift the flap 130, as suggested by the arrow F. The frangible zone is first fractured, then the flap pivots around two folds P forming a hinge, which materialize at the ends of the cutout 120 and on the side Outside the flange 106. In the meantime, the lid 200 is detached from the inner portion at the corner of the flange 106, but remains integral with the flap.

On the Fig. 2 , the cutout extends in such a way that the part of the lid that has been removed from the lid can sufficiently release the opening allowing the user to dump the contents of the food pot. On this Fig. 2 , the cut extends to more than half the length L of each of the two portions of the rim delimiting said corner.

The frangible zone is positioned at the mid-length of the cutout 120 to facilitate the opening of the flap. The flap 130 is bordered by a skirt 132 that extends from below over substantially the entire length of the cutout 120, facilitating its grip to lift it and provides it with sufficient rigidity so that it substantially retains its flat geometry . The flap, the skirt and the folded part of the lid thus constitute a sort of articulated lid.

The consumer can then at will to pour the contents of the food pot, drink directly its contents or using a straw. The food pot can also be used to contain a product whose consumption is split over several days, such as powdered sugar, dried fruits, condiments, etc.

By lowering the flap 130 towards the flange 106, as shown by the arrow - F on the Fig. 4 , the consumer can close the food pot by replacing the lid on the flange 106, so that the inner edge of the flap can be retained by clipping on the projecting corner of the rim, the consumer can then close the food pot. Its content that has not been fully consumed is preserved. It can be transported or stored.

By operating the flap, it can be tilted between a closed position of the opening of the food pot and an open position partially disengaging said opening.

The size of the opening partially disengaged by the flap, when in its open position, favors the dosing of powders or liquids during spillage, and reduces, as a spout, the risk of splashing.

In a first variant embodiment of the food pot 100 presented on the Fig. 5 , the outlet of its opening 104 is oval. An area of an edge located on its major axis has a corner geometry in which is provided a cutout 120. This again has, in top view, a circumflex accented geometry. This corner geometry is connected to the waist wall 110 of the food pot via a concave wall 140 forming a spout. The length of the blank 120 extends below the secant connection plane between the concave wall 140 and the waist wall 110. The flap 130 is also connected to the inner part of the flange 106 via a zone frangible R.

It will be understood that a spout may be provided in a container of the invention, whatever the shape of the opening of the opening and whatever the shape of the container.

Sur cette Fig. 6, la longueur de la découpe 120 s'étend sur un tiers du périmètre du rebord 106.In a second embodiment of the food pot 100 shown on the Fig. 6 , the outlet of its opening 104 is circular. The cutout 120 has a top view of an arcuate geometry. Its length extends sufficiently to clear the opening of the food pot so that the user can dump its contents when the flap has been raised. On this Fig. 6 , the length of the cutout 120 extends over a third of the perimeter of the flange 106.

The container of the invention can still be used to store various small objects such as hardware.

A lid can still be used to style the flap by holding it in its closed position.

The container of the invention proposes a solution for reclosing its opening without using a lid. Its cost price is comparable to a container with operculum.

Claims (7)

  1. Container (100) of the type comprising an aperture (104) encircled by a rim (106) normally covered with a detachable sealing lid (200), a cutout (120) locally passing across said rim so as to demarcate a flap (130) positioned outside and able to be lifted to release the lid in order partly to open said aperture, the flap (130) remaining attached at the ends of said cutout, the rim (106) presenting at least one corner, the cutout (120) being made in said corner, characterised in that the flap (130) is edged with a skirt (132) which extends downwards over practically all of the length of the cutout (120) to enable the flap (130) to be gripped so that it can be lifted and to provide it with sufficient rigidity so that it practically retains its flat geometry, hence an articulated cover.
  2. Container (100) according to claim 1, characterised in that the flap (130) is linked to the inner part of the rim (106) by means of a breakable zone (R).
  3. Container (100) according to claim 2, characterised in that the breakable zone (R) is positioned in the middle of the length of the cutout (120).
  4. Container (100) according to any one of the preceding claims, characterised in that the lid (200) is affixed to the rim by applying heat.
  5. Container (100) according to any one of the preceding claims, characterised in that the cutout (120) presents, in top view, a geometry like a circumflex accent for containers with a square or oval aperture, or a geometry like an arc of a circle for containers with a round aperture.
  6. Container (100) according to any one of the preceding claims, characterised in that the cutout (120) extends over more than half of the length L of each of the two portions of the rim demarcing said corner.
  7. Container (100) according to any one of the preceding claims, characterised in that a spout (140) is formed between the outlet from the aperture (104) and an enclosure wall (110) making up said container, the outlet from the spout (140) being encircled by the cutout (120).
