Abstract

The invention relates to a watering device for house plants in the absence of their owners. This method includes neither mechanical nor electronic components. It is made up of a reservoir (16) and of its lid (2), both include double walls in order to accentuate the maximum retention of the water, the reservoir (16) is connected to an assembly made up of a rod (9), of a guide (10) and which both receive a filter (13). The latter, between its two meshes (15) compresses a baize fabric which is tasked with feeding the plant with water. This filter (13) is designed to be in immediate contact with the soil as soon as the device is positioned in the soil.

The present invention relates to a watering device for houseplants in the absence of their owner for about a month in duration of watering.

For absences exceeding one week, it is necessary to find a solution capable of providing each plant with the quantity of water necessary for its survival. In France tens of millions of French men and women encounter this problem throughout the year and especially during major departures.

Currently, it is usual either to look for a person on guard capable of ensuring the maintenance of the plants, or to have recourse to traditional methods of irrigation among which one can quote - the grouping of the plants on trays filled with water and gravel or on spongy mats soaked in water, humidification by capillary action with a wick, one end of which soaks in a bucket of water and the other in the soil of the pot, -the use of bottles fitted with small pipes to bring water to the pots by siphoning.

These amateur processes are tedious, long to set up, unreliable, random and require know-how and experience to be effective.

In addition, the various systems which currently exist on the market with a pressurized water distribution are better suited to stationary garden equipment than to temporary assemblies to temporarily ensure the survival of apartment plants, because the corresponding installations are expensive, long to put into service, rigid and bulky, they have many connections to be installed with care and safety, because in the event of a leak, there is a risk of flooding due to the constant pressure that prevails in pipes and various accessories.

The object according to the invention shown in Figure n04 ALLOWS SAFE to instantly remedy all these watering problems; all these inventions created to date are from a technical point of view very good but expensive, not always easy to install and always involve a certain share of risks in the long term.

The device according to the invention shown in Figure n04 allows with total security to overcome all kinds of drawbacks, it consists of a tank made entirely of hard plastic with a cover (to prevent rapid evaporation). This tank has double empty walls or filled with glass wool for a much longer water conservation.

This tank can have different shapes (depending on the necessary water reserve); it may include several filters (depending on the water capacity requested by the plant), be bean-shaped with the same watering process.

Under the base of this tank is screwed an axis integral with a pointed guide to push more easily the device in the ground, in this axis, beforehand, comes to fit the filter which is removable.

The assembly is screwed under the water tank where under the latter are created fine slits delaying the descent of the water towards the filter (figure n03). This filter, entirely made of plastic, has two grids which compress a felt fabric which, at the time of assembly, comes to nest in two polarizing or stops which are located under the water tank.

Note that watering will be done permanently by the device in small continuous doses.

Drawings are attached for illustration which represent in (fig 1) a section of the top of the device, revealing in 1 and 4 the plastic walls of the water reserve, having as well as the body of the tank of the double walls, which can remain empty inside or covered with glass wool (5).

In (fig 2) there is a front section of the sprinkler device revealing in 3 an encrusted female nut which will receive during the final assembly the screw pitch 8. Beforehand the axis 9 will receive the conduit 11 which will allow with the stops 7 effectively maintain the filter 13. The latter will come up during assembly to abut against the guide 10 by its base and opposite 6 and 14 by its top. The (fig 3) represents the filter 13 also designed in plastic material composed of two grids enclosing a felt fabric having on its upper blanks slots allowing the water which has just 16 to be in immediate contact with the felt fabric who is responsible for supplying the plant with water. In (fig 4), an overview after installation in a pot (17) of the plant watering device (18).

The (fig 5) shows a profile section of the guide 10 and its axis 9 and the filter 13 which by their shapes allow immediate contact with the earth as soon as the device infiltrates the pot.

Thus, the subject of the invention is a device for continuously watering house plants, characterized in that it comprises in combination a water tank (16) connected at its lower part to an axis, guide (9) assembly ( 10) which support a filter (13) intended to be brought into immediate contact with the earth as soon as it is inserted into the pot and by the fact that the reservoir is provided with a cover (2) and is pierced with a few holes (6) for facilitate the descent of water to the filter (13).

According to other characteristics - the filter (13) has two flat sides, which facilitate the absorption of water for the plant, these flat sides being connected to a central part intended to be threaded on the axis (9) and laterally protected by two plastic screens (15).

-The device is designed entirely in hard plastic.

-The tank has double walls (1) (4) and its cover (2) allowing a longer watering time, due to limited evaporation of water.

-The reservoir is provided at its base with positioning stops facing the holes (6) of the reservoir (16) and the holes (14) and of the filter (13).

-The guide (10) has laterally triangular faces whose base located horizontally upwards corresponds substantially to the width of the filter (13) and the grid (15) which contains it, and a thickness between its lateral faces, corresponding substantially to the thickness of the filter (13) and the mesh (15) containing it.

This thickness tapers towards its tip to facilitate its penetration into the ground and to define the location of the filter.

1) device for continuous watering of carac house plants  terized in that it comprises in combination a water tank (16)  connected at its lower part to an axis assembly, guide (9) (10) which  support a filter (13) intended to be brought into immediate contact  with the earth as soon as it is inserted into the pot and by the fact that the  tank is provided with a cover (2) and is pierced with a few  holes (6) to facilitate the descent of water to the filter (13). 2) device according to claim 1 characterized in that the  filter (13) has two flat sides, which make it easier for the plant  water absorption, these flat sides being connected to a part  central designed to be threaded on the axis (9) and side protected  by two plastic screens (15). 3) device according to claim 1 characterized in that it is  made entirely of hard plastic. 4) device according to claim 1 characterized in that the  tank has double walls (1) (4) and its cover  key (2), allowing a longer watering time, due to  limited evaporation of water. 5) device according to claim 1 and 2 characterized in that the  tank is provided at its base with screw positioning stops  with screw holes (6) in the tank (16) and holes (14) and the filter (13). 6) Device according to claim 1 and 2 characterized in that the guide  (10) has triangular sides laterally, the base of which  located upwards horizontally corresponds substantially to the  width of the filter (13) and the mesh (15) which contains it, and a  thickness between its lateral faces, corresponding substantially to  the thickness of the filter (13) and the mesh (15) containing it. This thickness tapers towards its tip to facilitate its penetration into the ground and to define the location of the filter.
