Abstract

Device for preventing the inopportune closure of a swinging member such as a door, window, etc. It is in the form of a wedge (1 - 1-A), including means of attachment constituted either by a hook (2) or by at least one permanent magnet (3) enabling it to be fastened onto the hinges (5) mounted on the leaves (4) of the doors, or casements (4) of the windows, to be equipped, the wedge being made from an elastically deformable material which prevents the said leaves or casements on which it is mounted from closing, by virtue of the self-damping properties of the substance of which it is composed. The device according to the invention is particularly intended for keeping the leaves of doors and the casements of windows in a position of opening of at least 90 DEG .

Description

 The present invention relates to a device for preventing inadvertent closing of a leaf such as a door, window, etc.

 In rooms used for residential purposes or in which professional activities are carried out, it is sometimes necessary to leave the doors and / or windows open for reasons of ventilation, passage ...

Casement closures, which are the most common, have the disadvantage of being subject to accidental operations, in particular: by air currents, by inattention (reflex to close mechanically), by carelessness (closing by young children) ... In all cases there is a change in the state of the openings with risk: damage (broken windows), noise (sudden closing), accident (pinching of the fingers of young children) in these untimely maneuvers of the leaves.
Currently there are leaf locking systems which are
- either sealed in the masonry: hooks, turnstiles .....

- either fixed on the leaves: magnetic retainers, stop pads
- either independent: corners, wedges .....

There are also protection systems, consisting of a thin and flexible plate, one side of which is fixed to the doorframe and the other to the leaf, preventing the fingers from entering the rebate regardless of the position of the leaf.
All these systems have various drawbacks: those which are to be fixed are difficult to use indoors for aesthetic reasons and those which are independent are within the reach of children whom they are supposed to protect therefore neutralizable by them
The present invention relates to an autonomous device, overcomes these drawbacks, which avoids the unexpected closing of the doors or windows
It is in the form of a discrete and movable cylindrical corner of appropriate section allowing it to be used in the widest variety of rebates, comprising fixing means allowing its positioning and its maintenance in the angle which constitute the jamb and the edge, joint side, of the open leaf to avoid inadvertent closing of the said leaf
It is made of an elastically deformable material, in particular of cellular elastomer or not of an appropriate hardness, the virtues of elastic self-damping attenuate the violent forces which the hinges incur when the leaves are maneuvered violently by air currents particularly
The means which allow its positioning and its easy and rapid removal of the rebate can be constituted

Said device is characterized in that it is universal, portable autonomous, compact and discreet. It can be used out of reach of children and easy to store by being associated with a piece, flat metal or as needed constituting a hook close to the usual place of use, serving as a storage support
