Abstract

The present invention relates to a machine tool with a gantry for machining components of large dimensions comprising a bed (table) (2) and a gantry including a crossmember (3) carried by two uprights (1, 1a) located on either side of the bed (2). A movable upright (13) is mounted slidingly on the crossmember (3) and bears a vertical sliding carriage (17) equipped with a slide (runner) (18). The movable upright (13) slides along two slideways (8) located on the front face of the crossmember (3) and of an additional slideway located at the rear.
