Abstract

Device for protecting a driver of a rolling or flying vehicle from dazzling (glare). The invention relates to a device making it possible to reduce the discomfort and danger usually caused by the driver being dazzled, and thus to increase the safety of his passengers and of the other vehicles. It consists of a tinted transparent part (3) to screen solar radiation, fixed to the existing sun visor or on any rolling vehicle by a system of stabilising hinges. A hinge consists of a clip (1) and of two parts (2) and (4) articulated about the axis (6). The transparent part may assume two stable positions: active or retracted (folded back flat against the sun visor). The device according to the invention is particularly intended for rolling vehicles (cars, lorries, etc.) and for lightweight civil aviation (aircraft). Its shapes are rounded and softened, in accordance with road safety standards.

Description

 The present invention relates to an anti-dazzle device adaptable to the sun visor of any rolling vehicle.

 Glare protections already exist in different forms (sun visor on all vehicles, colored self-adhesive strip, etc.), but they are ineffective in most cases (grazing sun, headlights of oncoming vehicles the night, ...). In addition, it may happen that the trainee had the arrangement of the sun visor is inadequate for some people.

 The various current systems therefore sense the defect of being difficult to adapt to different situations. To protect themselves from glare, the driver must then use diverted means (his arm or an object within reach of his hand), likely to make him commit a fatal error, or at least to cause his attention to relax.

In short, discomfort due to glare compromises the safety of the driver, his passengers and that of other vehicles.

 The proposed device overcomes all these drawbacks: it does not interfere with visibility by its transparency, it is adjustable and adaptable to a very wide range of situations. n installs on any type of vehicle with a sun visor, it folds up on one or the other of the faces of the sun visor, its size is therefore almost zero.

 With reference to these drawings, the device comprises clamps (1) (made of spring steel for example), each clamp is fixed to the body of the corresponding hinge by means of a pop rivet (5) and holes of the pop rivet fitting (5 ) and housing holes provided for this purpose. The fixing clamps are installed using any two common tools which act as levers. For example, for an average motor vehicle, two clamps are sufficient.

The part (4) comprises two male forms intended to engage in the corresponding female form of the part (2) to stabilize the position of the anti-dazzle part in the active or retracted position.

 Figure 4 shows the axis of one of the hinges: this axis consists of a grooved pin (6), as well as a spring (8) framed by two washers (7) anti-wear. This part provides, in addition to its axis function, the stabilization function of the anti-glare part thanks to the spring and to the female and male shapes of the parts (2) and (4).

 Finally, Figure 5 shows the anti-glare part (3). This part can be made of polycarbonate of soda or transparent material of the same nature, tinted anti-glare.

The part (3) has rounded shapes with softened fields.

 By way of nonlimiting example, the part (3) will have the dimensions of the order of 30 × 8 × 0.25 cm for a medium-sized automobile, and will be fixed by two clips to the sun visor.
