Abstract

Inexpensive viewing binoculars, characterised by a novel system of arranging the constituent parts which make the binoculars lightweight and effective. The invention relates to a binocular system which is obtained by folding a pliant material to which is attached plastic lenses by means of a lens support of novel design. The binoculars consist of a main body (40) which are 8 truncated conical pieces of +/-7 cm by 2 cm, these being folded up on themselves in groups of 4, (30-31-32-33) and (34-35-36-37), and which are fixed by a male-and-female attachment system (1-2/5-6). This body is surrounded by an outer band itself fixed by a male/female system (9-10) and, in addition, by four judiciously placed notches (13-14-15-16). A U made of rigid material receives, by virtue of two transverse slots (22 and 23), the lenses (24 and 25) which end up sliding inside. The magnification is between 4 and 6 times. The device according to the invention is particularly lightweight and easily transportable, and it allows very considerable magnification given its small size and its novel structure.

La présente invention concerne des jumelles (pouvant eventuellement être jetables) qui s'obtiennenent par pliage, auquel on a adjoint un procédé original de support de lentilles et un bandeau de maintien. Par rapport à ce qui existe, on a réalisé un nouveau type de jumelle bon marché grâce à une ceinture exterieure qui maintient l'ensemble. La nouveauté tient aussi dans la façon d'agencer les différentes parties pliables : tout est réalisable avec tout matériau pliable : carton, matière plastique souple, polypropylène.The present invention relates to binoculars (possibly disposable) which are obtained by folding, to which has been added an original method of lens support and a retaining strip. Claims

2) Device according to claim 1 characterized in that the main body (40) consists of 8 trunks of cones of 7 cm by 2 cm which fold over themselves in two groups of 4 (30 -31-32-33) and (34r35-36- 37) and which are fixed by male (1 and 2) and female (5 and 6) systems.

4) Device according to claim 3 characterized in that the external strip once joined the parts (9 and 10) is additionally held by four notches (13-14-15-16) which have been cut in the main body (40 ).

5) Device according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the system for supporting the lenses is a U (50) made of rigid material in which two transverse grooves (22 and 23) have been arranged making it possible to fix lenses (24 and 25) very precisely.

6) Device according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that on the lens support (U) two small lugs (18 and 19) have been designed intended to snap into orifices (20 and 21) of the main body (40).
