Abstract

Description

ADDITIONAL EQUIPMENT OF LONG CHAIR.

The invention relates to an attachment for a chaise longue intended to be used in particular for reading comfortably both in the lying position on the stomach and in the lying position on the back.

Some of these are equipped with a liftable backrest in one or more positions to allow reading while resting on the backrest and the extended legs. These various types of chairs are not at all comfortable for reading while resting on the stomach. For this, it is necessary to lean on the forearms while raising the upper chest. This position is uncomfortable and tiring and cannot be kept for long. Likewise, the patients having to remain in bed for long periods only by resting on the stomach, do not have the possibility of reading or writing in this position.

The object of the equipment according to the invention is to remedy this drawback.

The invention solves the problem of creating ancillary equipment for a lounge chair and a bed that is as comfortable to use when lying on your back as when you are lying on your stomach, especially for reading or writing.

According to a first embodiment according to the invention, the annexed equipment of chaise-longue and bed intended to allow reading and writing while lying on the stomach, is characterized in that said equipment is attached or integrated at the end side head of the lounge chair or the bed and in its extension, in that it comprises at least one headrest means (14) and a shelf (6, 17, 32, 48, 57, 70) independent or not of said lounge chair or bed.

According to a second embodiment, the equipment according to the invention cooperates with a lounge chair comprising a tubular frame (1,3) and a fabric (2); said additional equipment (5), also consisting of a tubular chassis provided with a canvas or a forearm rest plate and a headrest, is disposed against said chassis (1), said additional equipment ( 5) consists of a shelf (6) with a height (7) depending on the height (8) of the lounge chair or the bed; a height (9) is pre-defined according to an average height allowing people of normal size lying on their stomachs, on top of the lounge chair, to use this tablet to rest their forearms, hold a book, write or handle any other object; the base (10) of the shelf (6) is engaged inside or against that (11) of the lounge chair and has a vertical tubular extension (12,13) ending in a square on the shelf side and receiving a cushion (14 ) says headrest; said cushion (14) is narrow and long enough to allow the front clearance of the shoulders and forearms in the position of use resting on the belly.

According to a fifth embodiment according to the invention, said ancillary equipment for a lounge chair, tubular or not, is completely independent, it consists of a shelf (32) comprising tubular legs (30, 31) of round, square section. or rectangular. made adjustable in height; they each comprise a first tube (33) integral with the shelf (32) and provided with means for immobilizing a second tube (34) sliding in said tube (33) and provided with a base (37); the tablet (32), for rest of the forearms, comprises means (38,39,22) fixed on it and receiving in the upper part, an appuitête cushion (40); the height (9) of the top of the cushion (14) relative to the tablet is predetermined according to an average.

According to a sixth embodiment according to the invention, said additional equipment is completely independent, it is provided to cooperate with a lounge chair made of injected plastic, on which is placed a thin mattress (46), against the front of which is placed said independent annex equipment (47) comprising a shelf (48) also made of injected plastic material provided with a headrest (49) supported by a column (50) ending in a tray (51) on top which is fixed a cushion (14).

According to a seventh embodiment according to the invention, said additional equipment is designed to cooperate with a lounge chair made of injected plastic, comprising a thin mattress (46); the front of said lounge chair has a molded slide (55) in which is engaged a removable headrest support (56) adjustable in height, on which is fixed a cushion (14), allowing to use any thickness mattress (46), or even no mattress at all; the headrest support (56) can be optionally supplied with a tablet (57) made of injected plastic; there is provided a fixed position defined by a stop (58) on which the removable support (56), engaged in the slide (55) is then simply supported.

According to an eighth embodiment according to the invention, said additional equipment is designed to cooperate with a lounge chair made of injected plastic, comprising a thin mattress (46); the front of said lounge chair has a headrest support (60) molded onto the front of the lounge chair (45), the forearm rest shelf (57) being independent.

According to a ninth embodiment according to the invention, said additional equipment is designed to cooperate with a so-called hospital or clinic bed generally made of metal angle; the headrest (65) is made in the form of a welded angle bracket console comprising a plate (66) on which is fixed a removable cushion (14), said console is fixed in (67) removably on the chassis (68) of the bed at the height corresponding to the thickness of the mattress (69); a forearm rest shelf (70), with or without a small cushion, is placed near the bed.

According to a tenth embodiment according to the invention, said equipment is constituted by a structure of inflatable material of the type coated sheets of glued fabric, or sheets of heat-sealed plastic material; it preferably consists of three parts (75, 76, 77) inflated separately each by means of a filling orifice (78) provided with a plug; the parts (75,77) act as flat mattresses; the central part (76) constitutes a triangular-shaped file; the mattress part (77) is arranged to act as a support tablet for the forearms in the prone position on the stomach, the user's chest resting on the backrest (79), the chin resting on the upper end of the backrest and the arms deforming on each side the mattress at head height.

 The advantages brought by the deckchair according to the invention are the following: - allow to lie down comfortably on the belly, to rest and in particular to read, write and / or to sunbathe in the sun, the head supported, the arms resting on an adjoining tablet, without fatigue of the arms or upper body; it also allows various activities to support the stomach, manipulate binoculars, a radio or television set etc ...; to allow use, (similar to the previous ones) for children.

Fig.1 shows a first embodiment of a lounge chair according to the invention, consisting of a tube frame 1 and a fabric 2 stretched, seen in perspective in fig.2; comprising a backrest 3, shown in phantom, with its stretched canvas and a return 4 for supporting the ground in place of the base in solid lines. This tubular version, lounge chair or canvas camp bed cooperates with annex 5 equipment, integrated or not. It consists of a shelf 6 with a height 7 which is a function of the height 8 of the lounge chair or the camp bed. The cushion is fixed on a tubular support 15 made integral with a crosspiece 16 which is itself integral with the tubular frame 1. The tubular shelf 17 is independent; its base 10 is placed against that 11 of the chassis 1 and held by fixed hooks 18.

The top of the shelf 17 can be either a canvas, a sheet or a sheet of plywood.

In fig.3, we partially showed the tablet, type 6 or 17, integrated into the frame 20 of a lounge chair or a camp bed.

Fig.4 shows another version of annex equipment of chaise longue, tubular or not, completely independent, consisting of a tablet of the genus 17 bearing against the base 11 of the chaise longue, and comprising a headrest cushion 14 fixed on a metal plate 22 secured to a tube 23 sliding in a tube 24 secured to the base 10 of the shelf. The height position of the headrest 14 is maintained by means of a locking screw 25. The tablet can be made of various known materials. The adjustable headrest makes it possible to use the ancillary equipment with any type of lounge chair allowing you to lie on your stomach.

Fig.5 shows a variant of Fig.4 in which it is the tubular legs 30,31 of a shelf 32 which are made adjustable in height. They can be of round, square or rectangular section. They each comprise a first tube 33 secured to the shelf and a second tube 34 sliding in the tube 33, immobilized on the tube 33 by a screw 35 screwed into a nut 36 welded to the tube 33, the tube 34 is provided with a base 37 for example made of elastomer. The tablet 32, for resting the arms, comprises a tube 38 welded at its base to a metal plate 39 fixed on the tablet, and at its upper part, a second welded plate 22 on which the headrest cushion 40 is fixed. height 9 of the top of the cushion 14 relative to the tablet is predetermined according to an average.

In fig.6 there is shown an example of a chaise longue 45, for example of injected plastic, on which a thin mattress 46 is placed, against the front of which is placed an independent auxiliary equipment 47 comprising a shelf 48 also in injected plastic material provided with a headrest 49 supported by a column 50 ending in a plate 51 on top of which a cushion 14 is fixed.

Fig. 7 shows, in perspective view, the same chaise longue 45 and its mattress 46. This type of chaise longue generally has a backrest whose inclination is adjustable and can be laid completely flat. The front of this lounge chair has a molded slide 55 in which is engaged a headrest support 56 adjustable in height, on which is fixed a cushion 14, allowing to use any thickness of mattress 46, or even no mattress at all. The headrest support 56 can be optionally delivered with a tablet 57 made of injected plastic. There is a fixed position defined by a stop 58 on which the removable support 56, engaged in the slide 55 is then simply rested. Thus this type of lounge chair including the slide 55, is delivered with or without additional equipment in function of the intended use.

In Fig.8, there is shown a variant of Figures 6 and 7 in which the cushion 14 is fixed on a support 60 molded in front of the lounge chair 45, the shelf 57 being independent.

In FIG. 9, the application of the equipment annexed to the beds for patients having to remain permanently on the stomach has been shown. These hospital or clinic beds are generally made of metal angle. The headrest 65 is produced in the form of a welded angle bracket console comprising a plate 66 on which a removable cushion 14 is fixed. This removable console is screwed or riveted at 67 on the frame 68 of the bed at the height corresponding to the thickness of the mattress 69. A tablet 70 for resting the forearms, with or without a small cushion, is placed near the bed. It can be made of any known material and preferably of the same type as that of the bed frame, either in angle iron with a plasticized or sheet metal shelf.

The average height 9 was kept between the top of the mattress and that of the tablet.

Of course, the additional equipment can also be used with apartment and / or collective beds, in particular for reading in the evening in bed.

The shelf is then placed between the wall and the bed and its length can be that of the single or two-seater bed. In the case of a double bed, the shelf is equipped with two headrests.

Figs, lO and 11 show an extrapolation of the concept of lounge chair equipped with equipment allowing dual use in position, either supported on the back, or supported on the stomach. This equipment is made of inflatable material, glued coated fabric sheets, or thermo-welded plastic sheets. It preferably consists of three parts 75, 76, 77 each inflatable separately by means of a filling orifice 78 provided with a plug. Parts 75,77 act as flat mattresses; the central part 76 constitutes a triangular-shaped file. The mattress part 77 acts as a support tablet for the forearms in the prone position on the stomach, the chest resting on the backrest 79, the chin resting on the upper end of the backrest and the arms deforming, on each side, the mattress at head height. A small cushion has been shown in dotted lines for placing the head with the raised legs resting on the backrest 79,

Claims (10)
