Abstract

Electric locking device allowing the emergency exits to be barred during the day and operated remotely, characterised by the fact that the lock bolt pivoting about a spindle is rotationally driven by an intermediate piece, itself set in motion upon closure by a motorised worm and, upon opening, by springs which were tensioned during the closure operation. The lock bolt is held in the closed position by an electromagnet compensating for the effect of the springs whilst the thrust possibly exerted on the lock bolt is compensated for by friction; it will be sufficient to cut off the electrical supply of the electromagnet in order to cause the lock to open automatically under the effect of the springs. Indeed, upon arrival in the advanced position, the intermediate piece actuates an end-of-travel switch which brings about the return of the nut of the worm to the rearward position.
