Abstract

Device for piercing square holes in wood and metal, actuated by a hammer drill. The invention relates to a device which pierces square holes in a single operation. It consists of a main body 1 formed of a hollow square rod 2 terminated at one end by a hollow cone 3 having four triangular tips; the opposite end is a cylindrically swelled hollow housing 4 containing a thrust ball bearing 5. Through this rod 2 there passes a drill bit 6 including, inter alia, a cylindrical body 7 which bears on the thrust ball bearing 5. This cylindrical body includes a rod which is also cylindrical 8 intended to take up movement in the chuck of the drill. A clamp 9 clamps the main body in order to oppose its gyration through the use of its fork 10 trapping the depth gauge rod of the drill. This invention is particularly intended for drilling square holes and mortises.
