Abstract

The invention relates to a device allowing the mechanical, automatic and pneumatic plugging of the rectum (anus) of butchery animals after slaughter. It consists either of a container 5 of factory-made plugging buckets 4 which, by pressure, are released one by one on to the mandrel 2 as it moves for penetration into the anus 1 or by a precut strip 8 unrolling past the mandrel 2 at the moment of penetration into the anus 1, the cutout part of the strip 8 is detached and also plugs the rectum (anus).

Description

 The present invention relates to an improvement to the evisceration device covered by patent N 2324.238 filed on 10.06.76.

Hygiene problems of the Veterinary Services of the
European Community, require a process for closing the orifice of the rectum (anus) of slaughter animals after slaughter.

 The present invention is an improvement to the cited patent, which allows this operation to be carried out mechanically and automatically.

 In order to better understand the invention, we will now describe, by way of nonlimiting example, one of the embodiments with reference to the accompanying drawing, in which Figures 1 to 4 schematically represent the apparatus according to the invention during the various stages of its operation.

 Figure I. is an elevational and sectional view of the trimming assembly of the anus with the respective positions of the shutter (4) already manufactured.

 The object of the improvement according to the invention is to complete the whole trimming of the anus by adding to it a means for obturation of the anus, in order to solve the problem of the materials contained in the intestine which can spread. re above or in the animal carcass after slaughter, or optional a similar plastic obturator (4) of conical hollow shape matching the shape of the end of the centering mandrel (2).

 This obturator (4), the shape of which can vary within the limit of equivalents, allows easy introduction inside the anus, while scraping the adhesions on the internal walls and thus ensuring the cleanliness of the mandrel (2) between each operation on different carcasses, a form of flange (4bis of the shutter ensures that it remains in place.

 An automatic distribution t 5 I of the shutters t 4 J which brings them one by one in such a way that it is placed on the path of the mandrel (2) during its movement for penetration. When the mandrel (2) has met the shutter (4) a suction (6) ensures the maintenance of the latter during the rest of the movement. When the penetration is complete, the suction stops and a blowing takes off the shutter (4) and ensures its maintenance while the mandrel is withdrawn.

 It is possible to use shutters (4) manufactured as shown in FIG. I by (4) or produced on the apparatus in operation in FIG. III by the unwinding of coils 7 and 7 bis loaded with the strip (8) of plastic or equivalent pre-cut in the passage in front of the mandrel (2) by the push at the time of penetration into the anus, the pre-cut part (9) is released and also ensures the obturation.
