Abstract

The present invention relates to a case with sliding cover. It is constituted by the combination, on the one hand, of a case body 1 preferably made from thin semi-rigid synthetic material provided at its top with two parallel grooves 3 comprising stops 5, 6 at the their ends and, on the other hand, a cover 2 sliding in the said grooves, provided with lugs 7 which are applied against the end stops of the grooves thus preventing its total opening, but able to be separated from the case by exerting a strong pull, the cover being provided on its internal face 4 with a flexible clip built into its thickness allowing it to be converted into a badge or an office paper clip, its external face being able to carry decorative patterns 9. Known devices of this kind made to date are made either of paper and open by tearing a portion of the envelope, which prevents them from being closed, or of cardboard and has a hinged lid, which th .train a complex and expensive manufacturing, either metal, which is still much more expensive and can therefore only be reserved for luxury products.

 There are also cases made of synthetic material, but the known embodiments use a very thin and flexible material, which only provides protection that is very relative to their content, all the more since the covers are independent of the body of the case. , they can be opened easily, especially in a pocket, and moreover are easily lost.

The device according to the present invention eliminates all these drawbacks. Indeed, not only does it offer good protection for its contents but its cover is not likely to open inadvertently and can only be separated from the body of the case voluntarily, it can then serve as a badge or even staple, paper clip. The design of the assembly allows inexpensive mass production.

The device, FIGS. 1, 3 and 4 consists of a body of a parallelepiped case 1 and of a sliding cover 2.

The case body 1, made of semi-rigid plastic, has in its upper part of each of the two large lateral faces a groove 3 terminated at each end by a stop 5, 6. These parallel grooves and have their concavity turned towards inside the case.

The cover 2 consists of a rigid plate sliding in the grooves 3. It is provided with two small lateral shoulders 7, located substantially at the center of the great length and between the stops 5, 6, limiting the opening of the cover, and preventing it from being unintentionally separated from the body of the case 1.

However, the relative flexibility of the case makes possible separation and reassembly by exerting sufficient force.

The outer face can receive an advertising or decorative motif 9 and is provided at its ends with two semicircular depressions 8 preventing the fingers from sliding during the operation of the cover. The inner face 4 has a recess 10 in which is embedded a flexible tongue playing it as a staple and thus allowing the cover 2 to be used as a badge.

FIG. 2 shows an alternative embodiment in which the shoulders or lugs 7 are located inside the cover 2, and not outside as in FIG. 1.

The device which has just been described lends itself particularly well to the production of cigarette cases, but it can be perfectly suitable for many other products, its particularities constituting a certain commercial advantage.

The positioning of the various constituent elements gives this device a maximum of useful effects which had not been obtained to date by similar devices.

However, the shapes and arrangements of the various elements, as well as the materials used for their manufacture, may vary within the limit of equivalents, without changing the general conception of the invention which has just been described.

10 Sliding-lid case intended to contain cigarettes or other similar products, preferably made of semi-rigid synthetic material, but which can be manufactured with cardboard or the like, characterized by the combination of, on the one hand, a body of 'parallelepiped case (1) preferably made of semi-rigid thin synthetic material, provided at the upper part of the large faces with two parallel grooves (3) whose concavity is turned towards the inside and comprising stops (5, 6) to their ends, and on the other hand, a cover (2) sliding in the grooves (3), provided with lugs (7) which come to rest on the stops (5, 6), thus preventing its total opening, but can be separated from the case (1) by exerting a strong pull, the cover (2) being provided on its internal face (4) with a flexible clip (11) embedded in a recess (10) allowing it to be transformed as a badge or a paperclip au, its external face which can carry decorative or advertising patterns (9). 20 Device according to claim 1, characterized in that the outer face of the cover (2) is provided at its ends with two depressions (8) preventing the fingers from sliding during the operation of the cover.
