Abstract

The neck of a bottle (6) has an additional phial mounted on top of it in an inverted position e.g. a mixer drink. The phial (8) is inverted and its neck is inserted through the inwardly curved hole (13) in the end face (5) of a capsule (4) which is shrunk on to the rim (15) of the bottle (1). The screwcap (9) which seals the phial (8) rests on top of the bottle cork (2). An elastic ring (10) fits around the phial neck (7) between a collar (11) and the underside of the capsule end face (5). The capsule wall has a weakened zone to make it easy to tear off to release the phial. An alternative phial mounting capsule is also proposed for enlarged head champagne corks. ADVANTAGE - The phial support capsule provides a compact method of mounting the phial integrally with the bottle of drink with which it will be mixed.
