Description

The present invention relates to a method of constructing and covering roof truss frames for individual houses with attic space.

The usual techniques for making convertible attics use traditional frames or trusses.

Traditional frames have the following disadvantages
- many pieces of wood of various sections and lengths leading to the u
use of a large volume of wood.

- difficulté de préfabrication en série. - difficulty in prefabrication in series.

- assembly and assembly piece by piece on load-bearing walls,
- need for a highly qualified workforce,
- poor distribution of loads and thrusts on the masonry,
- troublesome farms for attic development.

- non-specific attic covering with, very generally, the obligation to
hide a significant part of the timber.

The truss structures have the following disadvantages
- all of their elements, in particular the posts and tall rails, are built
killed by planks which must necessarily be hidden during the ha
roofing,
- the farms must be connected by numerous wooden beams forming
stiffeners. braces and anti-buckling,
- no possible arrangement of the lateral volumes behind the posts and the
volume above the top ties.

The object of the invention is to propose a technique for constructing and covering a frame eliminating the drawbacks of traditional frames and those of frames made of light farmhouses.

To this end, the subject of the invention is a method of constructing and covering the frame with small trusses with load-bearing entry, characterized in that said small trusses comprise two vertical posts and a high entry with a section equivalent to that of a rafter, connected to a low entry and two rafters of flat sections; particle board or plywood nailed behind said pote lets and on said ties acting at the same time as covering the roof space, bracing, anti-buckling and attic floor under ridge.

The effect of such a method is to add to the advantages of the construction of truss frames with loadbearing, namely
- wood saving,
- simplicity of manufacture,
- rapid assembly, the following advantages
- simplicity of the attic dressing,
- traditional appearance of exposed framework,
- removal of numerous stiffeners, braces and anti-buckling,
- increased rigidity and stability,
- recovery of lost volumes.

To illustrate these advantages, an embodiment of a frame constructed according to the method of the invention will now be described, description given by way of example only and with reference to the appended drawings in which
- Fig.1 shows a sectional view of a frame constructed according to the method of the invention,
- Fig.2 shows a partial plan view of such a frame.

The farmhouse shown in FIG. 1 is constituted by a supporting beam (1) and two rafters (2) of flat sections, connected by two vertical posts (3) and a high beam (4) of sections equivalent to that of a rafter. .

The attic cladding is made with particle board or plywood or the like (5, 6, 7, 8).

The panels (5) fixed on the supporting struts are preferably with tongue and groove; they serve as a floor and horizontal stiffener.

The panels (6) fixed on the high ties (4) have a triple utility ceiling of the roof ready to paint or to ta, msser, attic floor (10) ready to receive a possible coating, horizontal stiffener. Their joints are arranged to the right of the top ties.

The panels (7) fixed behind the posts (3) serve as ready-to-paint or upholstered side walls and vertical stiffeners. Their joints are arranged behind the posts.

The panels (8) are fixed under the rafters (2), counter beams (9) are intended to hide the joints between the panels (8).

All the panels (5, 6, 7 and 8) form, with the trusses, a very rigid box girder which advantageously replaces the many wooden beams forming stiffeners, bracing and anti-buckling necessary for the rigidity and stability of the frames in small farms.

Figure 2 shows in plan the arrangement of the farms. The free space between posts is preferably equal to or less than 50 cm; which is the usual width of a roll of wallpaper.

Doors made economically by panels mounted on hinges, provide access to the lateral roof spaces (11). A hatch gives access to the attic (10).

As can be seen, the constituent elements of the construction and of the covering of such a frame are very reduced. The sections can vary for example from 38 x 150 to 38 x 225 for the crossbowmen and the ties, and can be 80 x 80 for the posts, tall ties and counter-rafters.

The assembly of the bottom entry and the rafters will be done, preferably, by metal connectors or gussets.

The posts and the top entry on the bottom entry and on the rafters will be assembled by means of straddles with pegging, bolting and (or) nailing.

Finally, the invention is obviously not limited to the embodiments shown and described above, but on the contrary covers all variants thereof.
